provides veterinary care and support for you and your pet from the time they join your family until they depart. As a team we will strive to help you understand your pet care options so that you can make an informed decision in every aspect of your pet’s care. Each and every family is different in how they handle each pet’s care within their family. Each family has different physical, emotional,

and financial needs. For this reason, we offer preventive health care for each life stage based on each pet’s life style. The preventative measures can include vaccinations, parasite control, dental care, and screening tests, such as radiographs (X-rays), blood work, and eye pressure checks (tonometry), to check for medical conditions. All pets need some medical treatment during their lifetime and Faithful Friends will be able to provide care by being able to perform diagnostics using the in house laboratory and the reference laboratory for special testing, radiology, tonometry, and monitoring of physical examination findings. These diagnostics will enable the doctor with the help of the staff to administer and prescribe appropriate medications, recommend further testing, surgical intervention, or if necessary, referral to a veterinary
specialist. Faithful Friends is able to provide a range of surgical procedures because of Dr. Ellen’s years of experience and interest and continued education in surgical procedures. Procedures that are offered include but are not limited to repair of the third gland of the eyelid or “Cherry eye”, a**l sacculectomy, dental extractions, perineal urethrostomy for blocked cats, subtotal colectomy for cats suffering from megacolon, adrenalectomies in ferrets, and flank spays in cats. The staff at Faithful Friends Veterinary Care, Inc. is excited to greet some existing faithful friends and make many new ones.

Update: 8 AM 1/16/2025
We are so sorry to share that the missing kitten has been found deceased, she had been hit on the road. We are so appreciative of the young lady that brought in the remains so the family could have closure. Thank you for your shares. We have a wonderful community.

Update: 10 PM 1/10/25 Still missing. Owner has talked to multiple businesses and homeowners nearby that are helping in multiple ways. If she is found over the weekend, please post on this post, as it will be monitored through the weekend.

Update: 10:30 AM 1/9/25 Still missing

Update: 9 PM, she hasn’t been found yet.

Lost kitten! Owner was getting her into the car when she escaped her crate. Ran across the road at Faithful Friends and down the bank at Strickler's. Roughly 3 lbs. White with a grey face and tail. Long haired. Timid, so likely hunkered down hiding. Call the clinic if you see her, 814-251-8270.

Have you noticed that some of your pet’s
medications appear to be the same as human medications, but a few are less expensive?
It’s not your imagination, and it may have you asking, “Can I take my pet’s medication?”
We strongly urge you NOT to, and here's why:

Faithful Friends doctors and staff recommend that you look carefully at your dog food ingredients. "Grain free" foods have been associated with the development of a type of heart disease usually found in only large or giant breed dogs. Specifically, foods which substitute peas, chickpeas, potatoes, lentils, sweet potatoes and/or the flours or other products of these ingredients in place of grains have been identified as possibly linked to heart disease in middle and smaller size breeds. See this link https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/outbreaks-and-advisories/fda-investigation-potential-link-between-certain-diets-and-canine-dilated-cardiomyopathy for more specific information. We have found regular and weight control foods from national chain stores as well as 'boutique' diets that do not advertise as "grain free" but nevertheless have substituted the above ingredients in place of the proven grains. If your veterinarian suspects that your dog is allergic to grain(s), alternative diets are recommended. For the vast majority of dogs, grains add to the correct balance of amino acids that support heart development and health.
