Jugular IV catheters can sometimes look super silly or seem kind of scary. However, they are a wonderful way to provide the necessary IV fluid for rehydration, healthy blood pressure, and a solid flush of the circulatory system for patients with some health concerns. Jugular IVs can be used in many different types of animals, like horses for example, but they are also great for our smaller patients who have teeny tiny leg veins that sometimes cannot support an IV effectively. This beautiful Flower got all her necessary electrolytes and fluids via a jugular IV and is feel loads better! 💜
