3 new shelter intervention intakes!

Danny and Sandy are 9 week old babes that came from a litter of 9, and accidental litter 🤦🏻‍♀️ Mama was a Golden Retriever, daddy unknown. Unfortunately, they were kept in a boarding facility situation and are already fighting coccidia and giardia. The last thing we needed or wanted were puppies, but a few other local rescues jumped in and if we all just took a couple, we could help with this very bad situation.

And our third kid came to us today his name is Goose. He is an 8 month old cavadoodle, in desperate need of structure and training.

It seems like every other phone call or text these days is to surrender a pet or desperate help for a dog in need. We are absolutely busting at the seams, financially burdened, tired, and overwhelmed! We are doing the best we can with medical dogs, sick puppies, seniors, while still navigating our daily logistics.

We need HELP! We need fosters, adopters, donations, help with transport. If you feel you might be able to help give back please help us to help them 🙏🏻

This kid is an 8/mo old Cavapoo! Unfortunately family no longer has time for him, and has asked us to take him on.

Goose will need a foster with patients that can help him to learn boundaries, potty train, leash train, crate train. He is good with other dogs and kids.

OC animal care is a county facility funded by OUR tax dollars, and functioning on a $28 million a year budget. Yet a black hole and death sentence for animals, not to mention zero support for low cost or free spay and neuter programs in the cities it serves!

This is a pic of River. He is a recent oc survivor 🙌🏻 Sprung by SAFE Rescue Team after being hit by a car, made to stay for 3 days stray hold, then tagged for euthanasia due to injuries.

ADORABLE VIDEO in COMMENTS

These 2 sweet babes were found running loose in HB yesterday. Both scanned, neither of them were chipped nor altered. Unfortunately the finders were unable to hold, (and we weren’t able to come up with a emergency foster) so finders turned them into OC animal pound today 💔

These boys are beyond sweet, and they will need a miracle to make it out that nightmare place alive 🙏🏻

If ANYONE would be interested to foster one of these kids to save their lives, they will have full rescues backing with SAFE Rescue Team 🤍 We will spring them, supply food, crate, any necessities, cover medical, etc. Their lives wholeheartedly dependent on it! *Can (and should be) fostered separately. So we will need 2 fosters.

Just a HUGE THANK YOU for helping us to help them!

We are so thankful and grateful for the kind and generous support we receive on a daily basis! Just today alone we’re blessed by HB’s finest, Paws Chateau with some well needed training, received a call to pick up a crate and beds from an amazing local HB family, and then another kind soul dropped off some food and supplements! Oh and as an extra bonus… I ran into ZZ (now named Olive)! Today was a good day!

On another note, we have received a few generous and well needed supplies via Chewy. Unfortunately they don’t tell us whom to thank 🤦🏻‍♀️ But please know we are so thankful for these extremely needed items!

6 souls rescued yesterday!

9am - Training class at our fav spot HB’s finest

10am - 2 young pups we committed to from a hoarding, backyard breeder situation. They are said to be American Eskimo puppies.

10:30 am - These 3 manifested from an unexpected litter. They are almost 5 months old and have been living in a very small environment since birth. They were loved, but unfortunately not in a good situation or in good condition. We will be helping to spay the mother who will remain with her family.

Over the next few hours we vaccinated and bathed pups. So much THANKS to for donating bath time and food for these babes! And then we strategically placed them all with our amazing foster families 🫶🏻 Did I mention how grateful we are for our amazing volunteers and fosters?!

Our final rescue for the day was SAFE before noon 🙌🏻 Bruno! This boy had been sitting at Downey shelter for a month and was scheduled for euthanasia today! Of course one of our amazing fosters had been following his journey, and felt very compelled to not let him be killed. So we welcome Bruno to the SAFE pack!

We are utilizing every resource possible to try to help as many as we can, and still keep our heads above water! BUT WE NEED YOU! WE NEED HELP! Every single one of these pups we took in today will need vetting, 3 rounds of vaccines, spay or neuter, and microchip. In order for us to continue to do good rescue and keep the doors open, we NEED DONATIONS! We are not funded by any city or county entity, we are funded by the people and by donations. So many rescues are closing their doors right now because they cannot stay afloat. PLEASE HELP US TO KEEP KEEPING ON 🙏🏻

6 souls rescued!!! Yes this happened yesterday!

We started out the day with a early training class at our fav spot HB’s finest Paws Chateau - A Luxury Resort for your dog

10am - An amazing soul delivered 2 young pups we committed to. They are from a hoarding, backyard breeder situation 🤬 There were approximately a dozen dogs and puppies in need from that situation. They are said to be American Eskimo puppies.

10:30 am - Second amazing human delivers the second set of rescues. These 3 manifested from an unexpected litter. EMERGENCY 🆘 HELP NEEDED!!!

When it rains it POURS!

We were asked to take a young kid a couple days ago. He was in an ugly abusive situation and needed a quick exit!

Even though we’re beyond full and absolutely overwhelmed, we agreed to take him on because of the bad situation he was in and because we had an adopter that has been patiently waiting for this type of pup.

Foster reached out this morning letting us know the little guy wasn’t feeling well, we rushed him into our vet, and he tested a strong parvo positive 😭

He is currently with our vet team receiving supportive care. We have taken on so many severe medical dogs in the last few weeks, t’s insane and we need help 🙏🏻 This can turn into thousands of dollars very quickly.

This is a plea for HELP! We never shy away from the hard cases, but we didn’t anticipate taking a parvo baby on. We need donations, a sponsor, donations can also be made directly to our Vet team. However we get there, we just need help.

Where are our BIG dog LOVERS?

Red and Bailey have been patiently awaiting their happily ever afters for a couple months, and are eager to have a family to call their own!

Red is a 9/mo old GSD mix, has completed puppy training classes at HB’ finest, Paws Chateau, is dog friendly, kid friendly, potty trained, is a total cuddle bug! He would thrive in a home with active humans! Red was a shelter save when he was scheduled for euthanasia at a local shelter. 

Bailey! Oh sweet Bailey! This girl is the calmest most well-behaved sweetest eight month old GSD! She is cat 🐈‍⬛ friendly, kid friendly, toddler friendly, dog 🐕 friendly, potty trained, and crate trained! Bailey would thrive and just about any loving environment!

FOUND IN A GARBAGE CAN‼️

We need HELP to keep this baby out of the shelter system! We need a solid local foster!

A fellow rescuer just reached out and asked us to take a tiny puppy found in a box in the garbage last night 😭

He looks to be around 8 weeks old, 5 pounds, looks to be a poodle mix maybe 🤷🏻‍♀️

He will be brought up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, and of course neutered, and we will make sure we find the best forever family for him 🤍 If you would like to donate towards his care that would be so appreciated 🙏🏻

Fortunately (and unfortunately) our fosters know us all too well! Chris came across this baby in desperate need of rescue, an urgent situation, and jumped in to help. Her next phone call was to let us know we have a new baby in the SAFE Rescue Team pack 🤪

This boy will be brought up-to-date on vaccinations, needs to be dewormed, micro chipped, and of course neutered, and we will make sure we find the best forever family for what is going to be a huge boy!

PUPDATE- SAFE with SAFE Rescue Team! Unfortunately, this kid is a medical nightmare! He needs an amputation of his back left leg from old injury, (it’s just hanging on by a thread) extensive dental work and a neuter. But NONE of this can be done until he sees a cardiologist due to severe heart murmur and severe cardiomegaly. Unfortunately, none of this was disclosed on the shelters medical notes.

12 year old Scheduled for euthanasia after only 4 days at the shelter after being DUMPED!

This kid is in a LA shelter, 12 years old, vision impaired, can barely walk, dental disease, and dumped like trash! Look at his toe nail 🤦🏻‍♀️

This kid doesn’t deserve to go out like this! We are working on a plan! There are just so many injustices, and so many in need!
