Update time! For anyone who is following the ranch horse project Tater! Tater has been running at the college rodeos, as well as multiple jackpots down here in East Texas. Tater has pulled multiple checks, and continues to get better every run! With a lot of room for improvement, we can’t wait to see him continue to grow his career!
Opal
Our semester project update! Miss opal is excelling in every job asked of her. She has worked cows, rides around beautifully, she’s has even helped hog hunting! It’s hard to believe just around two months ago she had never been rode. If you are interested in sending your horse for a tune up, or training this upcoming summer message us; we only have a few spots left!
Yogi Barrels
Yogi took a day off from retirement to make a run down here in Galveston,TX! Running this guy is such a treat! Twenty-two never looked so good!
Lucy
Proud is an understatement! Some of you may recognize this mare, Lucy! She was started at Circle E and was just recently bought by her new owners. They just started their journey together on the rodeo road. Lucy and her new owner Kirsten ran a smoking 15.9 placing them second out of a tough group of girls! We love watching Circle E horses thrive; and can’t wait to see where Lucy and Kirsten go next!
Tater working Barrels
Training horses can be rewarding and frustrating both. For anyone who doesn’t know, this is a six year old ranch horse Circle E took on as a project this summer. We had big goals for him on our own timeline, but unfortunately he had another idea. It reminds us a lot about God’s timing. Horses have a great way of teaching us stories we hear in the Bible. The Bible says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Tater’s run may not have been perfect, but after months and months of work he is looking much better. We are excited for his future and the future of all the horses Circle E has the privilege of training. God is good!
One of the favorites at circle E, Yogi, is settling in nicely down in Texas! Here is a short video of him working with no hands!
The Circle E goat clinic is just a few days away! We encourage everyone to bring their own personal goat tying dummies to tie along side the live goats! If you haven’t signed up get, contact Circle E!
Are you looking for a reason to sign up for the Circle E barrel racing clinic? All the horses in this video were trained by Circle E! We would love to work with you and your horse to improve your skills.
Who is excited for the Circle E goat tying clinic? This is the horse saver will be using at the clinic to help everyone work on confidence in their get-offs! We have very few spots left for the clinic, get signed up while you can!
Mustang Project Update
Summer has been doing fantastic! She is learning to ride in different arenas, one handed, off neck rein and leg pressure. Circle E loves projects like this, we are excited to be back in Indiana one month from now with the next set of trainees!
Circle E would love to put on more clinics this summer. Would anyone be interested?
What has Circle E been working on?
On top of conditioning our horses for the college rodeo road this spring semester, we took a project on down here in Texas. This little girl is a mustang from the kill pen, whose previous owners said she would never be rode. We have been working with her for a little over a month now and she is doing fantastic! we love to see the progress she is making and are excited to see her future! Not only can she preform a walk, trot and canter, but she can side pass, pivot and be rode around other horses while they are roping!
Some of you all might remember Roan. This four year old mare made her first ever college rodeo run last night! We can’t wait to see what her future holds.
For those of you who don’t know, we have moved to Texas for a few years to a rodeo college, in hopes to further our education and experience! When we are back for breaks, training and lessons are on! We will keep you all updated as best as possible.
At circle E we like horses that can do whatever is asked of them. This is Roan a 4 year old mare, she is mainly a barrel horse; but also gives riding lessons and can even jump! That’s why we make sure every horse is started with the right fundamentals.
A lot of you know Sultan the lesson horse, but did you know you can ride him with just your legs? If you look closely at the video you can see my hands are not actually holding the reins, he is just listening to leg pressure. This is something all of you lesson kids can work on, using your legs to steer Sultan!
At Circle E we train a variety of horses! Yogi goes from barrel racing, to breakaway to english equitation!
One of the more popular horses in the barn, Yogi, laying down a very nice barrel run this weekend in Danville, IN!
Our current trainee, a two year old thoroughbred/quarter horse cross, Lucy! This is her first ride outside. She’s been with us for two weeks now and is progressing very well. I’m excited to see what Lucy and her owner can accomplish in the future!
