Congratulations to the new lessee’s of Cora!! More so congratulations to for the lease of her first horse. We achieved everything we wanted to and plus some with Corabell. Cora was a diamond in the ruff Ali & I fell in love with. It was an exciting journey together navigating through all of the incredible milestones and the not so fun realities we all go through becoming great horse owners. Cora is special and a true mare that taught us so much and we in turn took the best care of her. She now has found a family in Florida who sees all the beauty in her that we do. Cora gave Ali so many first time experiences and as difficult as it was moving on from her, where we are now makes it all make sense. The horses happiness is my greatest priority and my clients success is because of that. Congratulations 🎉🤍🥰

What are 3 things you want to improve on! 🧐

In Ocala I caught up with a trainer of mine I worked for back in 2007. In conversation she spoke of helping students and beginning with asking them 3 things they want to improve on. As a trainer of mainly young beginner riders I find myself picking on where I see weaknesses and creating lessons tailored to improving their foundation to be confident as we move forward. With that there is a transition where a trainer has to trust the rider can execute a skill or class with the teachings that they have learned independently. Also where a rider needs to take accountability for their ride and receive feedback to further improve but, to be proud that the task was completed from within themselves. I use March as a recharging preparation month for the nearing spring show season and if you ride with me we will be discussing what you as the rider want to get better at and take charge of feeling in control no matter where you are in your riding. Excited to see what my students want to work on and how they feel with these skills by the end of the month!! 🥰🎠🫶🏻❤️🎉

Looking ahead to Spring!! As I return home I can see Long Island is thawing out and warmer days are ahead of us. I have a few select spots for new Carousel Kids to join us. All of my lesson ponies are show quality with records to prove how cherished they are to my program and your kids success. I offer showing opportunities embracing the local Long Island circuit as well as traveling to A rated horse shows throughout the year. That’s a wrap!! Safe to say we had an amazing 2 weeks & rode there hearts out with the best Teddy, Callie, Tikki & Misty with them every step of the way!! Ellie had beautiful crossrails trips earning 4th & 7th and once you see the trips it had to be a competitive class!! They also were 3rd & 2nd in the walk trot poles!! Ellie was a rockstar everyday!! Scarlett doesn’t stay in bottom ribbons long- instead she try’s harder & WON her first walk trot poles class like last weekend!!! Ali & the queen b Callie under saddled like pros and earned a 3rd in the huge long stirrup hunter!! Poor Addison was beside herself upset that she was sick today and as awful as it feels to scratch sometimes you need to for the welfare of the horse and also the very important rider. We save Teddy’s jumps for another show because 💯 there will be so much more to come!!! These guys are learning extraordinary horsemanship & sportsmanship that goes beyond a weekend of showing but into their long riding careers!! Congratulations team, we came, we ribboned and were lucky to have these amazing horses in our lives!! Thank you Mia & .ruri for without your help these shows would be impossible!! ❤️🎠🎉💃🏻🥰

came to week VII and the entire family had an amazing horse show!! Scarlett & Tikki were class WINNERS in their first pole trip!! Eleanor & Misty finished Reserve Champion Walk Trot Poles!!! & Callie ribboned again in both competitive crossrail classes!!! Finally Addison & Teddy rode their hearts out in the 2’ Short Stirrup 11 and under earning 5th under saddle and 4th over fences in a huge group!! WHAT A WEEKEND!! Thank you to my amazing help Mia & .ruri !! The ponies get to get dirty again and enjoy the sunshine before week VIII starts right up!! ❤️🎠🎉👏🏻🥰

My LITTLES!!! mini’s walked into the ring at 7:30am excited, determined and ready to give it their ALL!!! Ellie shines in the show ring and today she earned 2nd & 6th over poles & 2nd in the huge equitation flat!! Her and her pal Misty are becoming quite the pair shows!! Scarlett & the cutest Rikki Tiki Tavi had small bobbles keeping them from ribbons over poles but, just came behind Ellie in the flat earning 3rd place together!!! We all can’t wait for another 7:30 start tomorrow to see what we can do!! 🥰🫶🏻🎠🤩❤️

Day 1 of was one for the memory bank!! After hanging on in the Short Stirrup Equitation Flat Addison received 3rd placing learning to never give up trying our best!! Once the earplugs were located they went into jump her equitation round laying down an outstanding trip to claim the win & finish Champion!! Congratulations Addie & Teddy!! 🎉❤️🎠🩵👏🏻

Huge thank you & congratulations to .lenahan_eq competing ‘s May-B Tango in the USHJA 2’ for us!! Yesterday they finished 8th & 7th over fences out of 25 and today earning an outstanding 2nd place over fences out of 43 riders!! Teddy was phenomenal and Addison is so excited for the Short Stirrup this weekend!! Dylan has been an incredible asset to keep Teddy on track while Addison works hard moving up into the 2’ division, I’m so proud of these guys and how much Teddy has taught us all!! 🩵🎉🥰🎠🥈🩵

As Ellie Calame gears up for the walk trot poles with Misty again. and I went down memory lane when she finished 17th out of 70 medium green ponies at pony finals in 2010!! Misty nearing 25 years old now is a absolute gem 💎 I’ve yet to find a kid that doesn’t love her, she is game for anything and we love having her in our Carousel Farm family forever. Let’s talk shipping horses & layover farms!! I pride myself with starting the tiniest riders & that comes with sharing a lot of education to first time parents. I have worn many hats over the years within this expansive horse world and navigating all the ins and outs seamlessly is part of keeping our horses safe while traveling long distances. The most important tool is my network and having trusted ‘shippers’ we can rely on to take care of our horses regularly. Horses should be checked on every 4 to 6 hours and make sure they are drinking water and being offered water. Are they eating hay & passing 💩 is always important but, they should also be bright & alert while traveling. Having people that get use to your horses behavior goes a long way to ensure their comfort. Standing on the trailer for long hours can be hard especially if they are older, some horses or trips require ‘box stalls’ additional room for the horse to be loose and move freely while traveling. For seasoned travelers and efficient shipping they stand tied and it’s crucial to get them off the trailer into stalls as quickly as the trip allows. This years trip to Ocala we avoided the snowstorm that was headed through and left a day early. They were taken to a ‘layover’ farm which is a facility that has room to house your horses for a night or more while they are either mid trip or prior to this horse show grounds reservation to begin. This years facility was perfect to let them be turned out, get dirty, acclimate and relax in the warm sun and wait until we could move them into today. I hope you found this insight interesting, so many moving parts having to work seamlessly together to give the best care to our crew who we love so much!! ❤️🦄🥰🚛

This morning we took a special trip with May B-Tango to .lenahan_eq made two beautiful winning warm up trips in the 2’ USHJA and Addison finishing the division with the combined effort of earning Champion! Continuing Addison earned Champion again in the Low Child/ Adult Equitation!!! They have work so hard to get into the 2’ and every show we add on more we want to focus on to keep progressing. Congratulations team, love to see it, love to be part of it and can’t wait for more to come, we love you Teddy!! 🥰🎠🧸🎉❤️

Congratulations to first awards ceremony from all their amazing pony riding throughout this past summer !! These girls are so dedicated & what a fun night to experience for them!! Congratulations Scarlett Calame finishing 3rd place Pre Walk- Trot, Ellie also 3rd place finish in Pre Special Beginner & Addison winning Short Stirrup Equitation & May B-Tango 3rd place in Xrail Hunters!! Incredible job & so much fun helping them at every horse show.

The pony crew is so much happier with this sunny calm afternoon. Amazing how this time of year 35 degrees can feel warm. Ponies need breaks just like we do & giving them downtime the past couple windy days was well worth it. Pony training is a fine line between knowing when to push and also to take a moment to let it all be. Avoiding rides with cold toes & tense muscles can go a long way to have happy, sound & suitable matches. Gearing back up for a beautiful weekend with my Carousel Crew. ❤️🥰🎠

Teamwork makes the dream work!! & .lenahan_eq had a great show today!! We are grateful for Dylan giving Addison & Teddy the confidence boost they needed to move into the 2’ successfully!!! This team finished reserve champion in the School Hunters, Addison earned 3rds & 2nd in the under saddle in the Low Pony’s and I pushed the envelope for extra experience to join in the Pre Child/ Adult Eq earning 3rd in the flat & finding some good jumps in her trips as well. Moving up isn’t straightforward and we are learning to adapt in the moment. Addison continuing to rise to the occasion at every show. Congratulations my friend you are now an official 2’ pony rider!!!! We can’t go to a show without bringing a walk trot kid… Ellie & Phoenix are a quiet little pair that the judges always admire. They also finished reserve champion in their group today and it was so adorable watching them go. Super proud of these kids, the kindness & support they give each other. Riders helping riders is a key ingredient to producing successful partnerships. ❤️🎠🥰🎉

December 2020 I began Carousel Farm and we just completed a 4th year. Some of my clients & ponies have been with me from the beginning, others had a special place throughout the years and some new faces we welcome to see how they will touch our lives. My farm is about growth, I love teaching kids & working with ponies, each pony gives us something unique and every child challenges me to become a better trainer. I am grateful to everyone who’s been and continues to be apart of my program, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, we’ve really had spectacular moments that I didn’t know could be possible. We’ve accepted & grown from the low ones because that’s part of life and they have consequently made us better. Moving into year 5 has a significance to it, I no longer feel like I’m on trial, I have created something that is consistent and now established. Taking multiple tiny kids to have big wins at big venues or overcoming fears of taking next steps and celebrating their first independent trot or jump. What makes Carousel Farm special to me has been the positive impact I’ve had the privilege of making to a lot of kids & ponies I’m lucky to train. Thank you to everyone who has been apart of this with me, my team has been so important and I’m looking forward to progress further in 2025!! ❤️🎉🎠🎊
