Introducing Peppermint, the stunning and a little bit shy blood donor who recently made her way to GG here in NY. Pepperment’s DOB is 7/29/2022.

Peppermint is doing well in foater care and we know that she would probably do best in a quieter environment as city living seems to make her a bit nervous. She bonds quickly and is also doing excellent with house-training. Peppermint also does well with other dogs.

If you are interested in adopting Peppermint please let me or Jesse Lee DeNeeve know.

Introducing Sandie, a gorgeous blue fawn female hound used as a blood donor at Hemopet in CA. Her DOB is 9/10/2022. She arrived in early August here in NY and is doing fantastic!!! Super friendly, gets along with others and will flourish in an urban or suburban environment. Because we do not know who her parents are Sandie is considered a “lurcher”, however we just think of her as a beautiful greyhound.

If you look closely you can see that Sandie has a slightly deformed snout. We think this makes her even more beautiful and appealing.

Sandie is with Grateful Greyhounds and in search of her forever home. If interested in adopting please message me or Jesse Lee DeNeeve.

ADOPT ME:

Magnolia, a 2 year old, gorgeous, blue fawn, former blood donor. She lived at HemoPet in CA and was used as a blood donor. GG welcomed her to NY a last week and she is thriving in the home environment. Because we donkt know who her parents are, she is considered a “lurcher” or greyhound mix although we just consider her a gorgeous greyhound.

Magnolia is a silly, playful girl and is doing her best to engage her foster sister in some play…the white/red greyhound isn’t impressed with Magnolia’s antics 😂

If interested in adopting Magnolia please send a private message as comments in the thread can be missed.

Introducing Peppermint, a stunning red with black muzzle former blood donor. Peppermint arrived today (8/4/24) after a 5 day drive from CA. Peppermint is a bit of a shy girl. She is still decompressing, we will know more about her in the next several days.

If interested in Peppermint, please send a private message as comments in the thread can be missed.

Introducing Sandie, a former blood donor from Hemopet in CA who just arrived in NY on 8/4/24. She is beautiful with her snaggle tooth and slight muzzle deformation. Sandie is a baby, not quite 2 yrs old and looking for her forever home. She gives kisses 😘 ❤️.

If interested in adopting Sandie please send a PM as comments on the thread can be missed.

Safety tips and reminders.

Quick reminder: DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG TO A FIREWORKS DISPLAY.

Walk or potty your dogs long before the first BOOM 💥.

Then wait until long after the LAST BOOM 💥 before you bring your dog(s) out again.

Check fences and gates. If you are having a hard time understanding why your dog is afraid of fireworks, imagine for a moment you lived in a war zone…would you casually walk outside? No, because it would be super dangerous. This is how your dog views the 4th of July.

The thing about lost dogs, especially on the 4th, is it is preventable. So take all precautions to PREVENT a tragedy. It is your job to protect your hounds.

Thanks 😊

This is the best news ever. Thank you The Sanctuary at Blue Bird Lane for committing to the search and helping Aussie get back to her family.

Note to self; never leave your hound behind in a tent (not sure if this is what happened but a good precaution) and also, please invest in a Fi or Tractive collar as well as a AirTag.

Fantastic news this morning. Aussie has been caught. I’m headed to meet the kind human who has her. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. This most definitely took a community of caring folks. More later.

Congratulations Milka, on finding your forever family. Good luck little one 👏❤️🐾😊

The worst time of the year for so many of our dogs. It is really heartbreaking to watch dogs struggle in fear. Please keep your furry family member safe, not only on the 4th of July but all the “practice” fireworks happening now and the left over fireworks that will continue. 🐾

Pay attention folks, our dogs depend on that.

Here in NY and the tri-state area and beyond we are expecting some extreme temperatures. With the heat and humidity high, we need to protect our dogs.

Here are some excellent tips from the Humane Society:

Introducing Chance, the absolutely stunning, brindle galgo that just arrived from Spain 🇪🇸 . Chance is a Christmas baby, Dob: Dec 25, 2021 🎄. Here is what his foster mom, Nancy Nelson, has to say about Chance:

Good Morning everyone, Chance here:
FM is translating for me as I still have limited English.

Well, things are going very well in my foster home. I get along VERY well with the pod, galgos and greyhounds . I eat everything FM gives me. Actually, I am a foodie. FM has to hold onto the bowl with both hands as she brings it to my man condo in the den. You can see the condo in the photos.

I have a dirty little secret. I am a counter surfer/hoarder. Yes, I was caught with a can of dog food and a bunch of bananas in my condo. FM said I was very good at giving them up And when I am scoping out the counter, I correct easily with a simple ”Eh.” I also collect toys!

I am working on my housebreaking and making excellent progress. FM says I am absolutely the sweetest boy ever and that I should have my own forever soon. 💕

Please send a pm to Grateful Greyhounds, Lisa Sallie or Jesse Lee DeNeeve if interested in adopting Chance.

This gorgeous hunk of a hound is super sweet, LOVES human contact and is doing fantastic figuring out the whole housebreaking thing. If you are interested in adopting TICO please send me or Jesse Lee DeNeeve a pm. Sooner than later as foster mom is smitten and we need her to foster others 😂 🙏

Meet MILKA, a Podenco mix who arrived in April from Spain. Milka is 7.5 years old and is absolutely delightful. She gets along with other dogs very well, she is calm, enjoys being around people. Milka is 30 lbs, a cute little stocky girl ❤️. We are wondering if it is because Milka is a little older that people aren’t asking about her 🤷.

If you are interested in giving MILKA a forever home, please send a private message. If you can’t adopt, please consider sharing this post to help us get the word out about this adorable little girl.
