Resharing Juancho because not ONE person showed interest in adopting him. He is the best little guy, such a sweet and deserving dog.

Located on Long Island (NY).

Juancho is a male, spanish podenco rescued in Spain. He was found outside of the Galgos en Familia shelter, chained to the fence lying on top of the crate filled with his puppies and the mom. He was so wonderful with those puppies which I was able to witness first hand when I visited Spain in July. Juancho is in great shape, has weirdly shaped front legs that you can barely notice and that causes him no pain (xrays prove it was how he was born, no surgery or rehab required).

If you are interested in adopting Juancho, please send me a private message.

Juancho is wondering if he will get the best Christmas gift ever…a forever home πŸŽ„. Location: Long Island, NY

Juancho is a male podenco, from Spain who arrived in NY the end of October. His dob is July 24, 2021. Juancho is doing great in his foster home, here on Long Island and is super loving and affectionate. He gets along with other dogs too (not sure about cats). He front legs are bent a little weird, just the way he was born, hardly noticeable and causes no pain.

If you are interested in adopting Juancho, please send a private message as comments on the thread can be missed.

Grateful Greyhounds welcomed some of the most gorgeous hounds from Spain πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ tonight (12/14/24). This will be our last transport for 2024. What is a bit sad is it will likely be our last collaboration with our friends at ASOCIACIΓ“N PROTECTORA ARGOS as they will be closing their doors soon. So thank you Argos, for trusting me and GG with many, many or your dogs throughout the years. We love you ladies and admire the work you have done for so many years. Tonight we are so proud to find forever homes for Pila, Pilo and Pequeno. All three are adopted and Pila and Pilo will live together for the rest of their lives ❀️

Thank you Galgos en Familia (Gill Brunton) for allowing GG to find forever homes for Pizarro, Ruben and Suerte. Each one is so special and we are so excited to play a small role in their journey.

Thank you to our fabulous flight patron Nancy Nelson and flight patron in training Sue McGuire, you gals did a great job and we are so appreciative of your hard work.

Thanks to the GG Army, the die hards whom I am fortunate to call my friends; Matthew Bilz, Maureen Bilz, Eileen Heym Lutz, Paul Lutz, Angie Soriano, Laura Mackay, maureen. The airport runs are smooth sailing thanks to your help.

Thanks to our fabulous foster homes; Leanne, Susan, Laura & Mo and Jean…you have no idea how appreciative I am for your help, especially just before the Holidays.

Ruben is the only hound in search of a forever home. More pics and videos of him later

Thanks everyone and have a great night.

FROM THE Nassau County SPCA from a few years back. Such an important message it was worth sharing again.

THINK about it.

While most of us are busy writing our lists and will soon be checking them twice. The Nassau County SPCA urges you to think carefully before you give a pet as a Holiday gift. Animals come with responsibilities, and the person receiving them may not be prepared to adequately provide for the animal's care. When the holidays end, the kids go back to school, and the adults go back to work, what happens to the new pet?

A pet is not a stuffed toy that can be tossed on the shelf when the newness wears off; the reality is that a pet is a serious long term responsibility and the decision to include a pet into any home should come only after careful consideration.

Please don't just "get a pet for the kids," unless you are prepared for a lifetime commitment!

The Nassau County SPCA would like you to remember to start at your local town animal shelter. You'll find dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, colors, temperaments and personalities at your local shelter. Want a high-energy ball player to be your activity partner? How about a low-key but lovable lug to share couch potato duties with you? Shelter staff and volunteers can counsel you and your family on the best pet to fit your lifestyle. By giving a home to a shelter or rescue animal, you save a life and create space for another needy animal, helping to reduce the number of unwanted and homeless animals in your community. There may not be a greater gift for homeless animals than to open your heart and home to them.

Please adopt don't shop!

Introducing JUANCHO, a handsome, male Podenco about 30 lbs. he arrived from Spain πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ last week and he is doing great in his foster home. His DOB is July 24, 2021. He was rescued by Galgos en Familia last July. He and his puppies and the mother were left outside of GEF, Juancho chained to the fence and was laying on top of the crate where his puppies were. As soon as we met Juancho last July, it was love. We could see how sweet he was and how special he was. Juancho’s front leg look a little odd, nothing crazy but just a little bit. He was born this way. His X-ray shows that he is absolutely fine, no pain, his front legs are just a little bit different.

If you are interested in adopting Juancho, please send me or Jesse Lee DeNeeve a pm (comments are the thread can be missed). Let’s help this handsome guy Juancho find his forever home.

She did fantastic at the Great Global Greyhound Walk saying hi to greyhounds, galgos, podencos and whippets without any issues. After the walk a group of us hung around for a bit chatting and Daisy took a nap on her blanket. Daisy is equal parts silly and chill ❀️🐾

ADOPT ME:

SNL Gone Girl aka GiGi is an ex racing greyhound and is available for adoption through Grateful Greyhounds. She is in foster care in Queens, NY. DOB: Oct 8,2019.

This active and silly girl is doing fantastic in foster care and has mastered doing her business outside (no accidents). She gets along with her greyhound and galgo housemates. She has met small dogs and seemed curious about them, she was not aggressive but definitely confused by them 🀷.

GiGi would so best in a home without young kids, that is active and enjoys walks, pack walks, hiking. She also enjoys some down time and relaxing as napping is important.

This sweetie is available for adoption and we hope she finds her forever home by her birthday in October.
