I'm test riding our new farm member, Mercedes. I love this horse. She's my kind of ride. She is very forward, very sweet and smart. She loves the trail and is very agreeable in the arena.

The oval crew was ready to get to the barn and since they were quite certain dinner hadn't been served yet, they took the opportunity to explore the other horse's turnout areas since they were already in their stalls.
They had to check out my work I've been doing over the last week. Every year I push out the boundaries of the upper turnout area surrounding the round pen.
I have a deep appreciation for metal corral fence panels. It gives me so much flexibility with the paddock layout. I'll share what I've been up to later.

Just look at this crew. Here are a few of our regular guests. They love this kennel since they can see all our visitors, knowing they'll get some puppy love.

Our 24th Summer Camp Season has come to a close.
We had 3 weeks of our full day camp and one week of half-day camp for The Calverton School
I want to thank our incredible staff. I couldn't do this without you.
We are very grateful to all the parents that chose us to share our love of horses with your children. We love all the laughs and giggles and pure joy that we witness during their experience at Canaan Farms.

I have this plant growing which I had not remembered planting and was thinking it was a totally different plant. The plant stayed green all winter because it was on the southern side up against the house. I looked up the plant I thought it was and nope, not it. I have a mystery plant thriving in a spot norhing else likes. It finally dawned on me as it formed buds and kept growing taller and taller that it's Hollyhock. I know I planted a hollyhock seedling a a summer or two ago and nothing really happened. I figured it had died and totally forgot about it. This is such a welcomed surprise as I adore this plant and I finally have it at it's best and in a perfect spot. God is good!

WE NEED MORE KIDDOS! OUR HALF DAY PROGRAM IS PRO-RATED AT $70/DAY FROM 9-12 IF YOU JUST WANT TO TRY US OUT!

We have a few more openings for our half day program this week. If you are interested it runs 9am - 12pm and cost $350. It's a great introduction to riding and perfect for ages 6 and up.
