I feel like the title “c**t starter” can be very misrepresented these days.

A c**t starter is not just some fearless person who climbs on a horse and flops around like a sack of potatoes.

I personally feel like a person who is eager to climb on a horse without having him properly set up for his first ride is not a “c**t starter” I call those idiots

A C**t starter is the person who puts the imprinted foundation on a horse, that will set this horse up for his future, abilities, and way of thinking….
I read a comment the other day from someone who said “ I would have liked to have had this horse as an unstarted two year old”

That hit close to home, I cannot count how many times I have said this about a horse that has come through our program!

I understand how expensive life has become, but the cheap route is typically never the best route!

Do your homework on your C**t starters and trainers! And invest in your horses! They deserve a fair chance!

I’d like to take a minute to introduce myself,

My name is Mario Pinzon, I’m the proud owner of Diamond P Performance Horses based in Huntsville, TX. At Diamond P, I leverage my extensive knowledge and expertise into building a better horse and unlocking their full potential. I’ve started horses that have gone on to excel at a wide variety of skills, from gentle kid-safe horses to performance rope and barrel horses. Training horses is not just a profession for me; it is a passion that I hold dear. I take great pride in it. I have been training horses for about 8 years now, but I’ve recently decided to make it a business venture. This choice has been the most fulfilling one I have made. I get to do what I love, while providing clients with horses that fit their needs.

When I’m not dedicating my time to the betterment of clients horses, you can find me in the roping pen. I picked up my first rope at the age of 4, from then my love for roping and horses only grew. I began my rodeo journey with calf roping and eventually found my true calling in team roping—a discipline that continues to fuel my passion to this day. By 25, I am a full-time header, participating in amateur rodeo & World Series ropings.
I’d like to take notice, none of this would be possible without God’s grace and guidance.
