Foxy had her very fist puppy groom today 😍 She got a mini groom where we leave the hair on the body and only trim the feet, face, and potty areas (and nails of course). This is a great way to get a puppy started with grooming, it’s less stressful than doing an all over haircut and familiarizes them with the grooming process.

Sometimes all you need is a good de-shed and outline trim. Not all dogs need to have an all over haircut such as double coated breeds like Luna. Getting a good amount of that undercoat she’s shedding out, and cleaning up the edges is more than enough to help her feel lighter and more comfortable for summer. A service like this also helps keep things clean in the house.. IYKYK 😜

This is what it is all about. I was lucky enough to capture a couple moments last week that really highlight why I love grooming. Sure the creativity is fun but it’s about more than that. A lot of dogs need to be groomed for their health but it can also be a scary, stressful thing for them. It makes my heart so full to be able to do it in a way that keeps the dog comfortable and to be able to build trust with them. In these pictures you can see that. In one picture, the pup was falling asleep while I groomed him. In the other I got to get some snuggles in with a sweet old girl after her first groom with me ❤️ Grooming is physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging but these moments are what keep me going. I plan on posting more grooming content in the future such as before and afters, how-to’s, and my thoughts. Please like and follow if you’d like to see more!
