Nutritional Requirements of Dogs

Research has proven that dogs are omnivores and are required to have a balanced diet composed of animal and plant ingredients. This is in contrast to the popular belief that they are carnivores because they fall under the order Carnivora. In fact, feeding solely pure meat or vegan diets may be detrimental to most dogs.

Healthy, and well-balanced diet for dogs must include nutrients that provide: amino acids from proteins, fatty acids and carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and water. The specific requirements for each of these nutrients depend on the dog’s size, its breed, and its stage in life, among other factors. For instance, a pregnant dog will have a different nutritional requirement from an adult dog.

Dan came to us after a call for help. The cat was found with a hurt leg. Dr Bice performed his wizarding healing and sent Dan home to recoup. Dan is friendly, very handsome, extremely affectionate. What is separation anxiety?

Separation anxiety, as opposed to generalized anxiety or boredom, is unique in when it occurs (as soon as you leave) and in what way it occurs (it’s excessive, and your pet’s panicked—not casually chewing on a shoe, but tearing through a crate, couch or even wall).

“In really simple terms, separation anxiety is just the fear of being left alone and the unknown that follows,” says Dr. Nellie Goetz, veterinarian and Arizona state representative for the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Alliance. “Animals live in the here and now … so when you leave, as far as they know, you could be gone forever.”

Hurricane, UT

Shih Tzus, Charlie and Lucy, lost their owner when he was placed in a facility. The man's children were not interested in keeping the dogs, so they came to us.

These two exceptionally sweet dogs are 12 years old. They are both trained to use a dog door. They both enjoy going to the local parks and playing in the water pads!
Both Charlie and Lucy could stand to lose a little bit of weight; but hey, couldn't we all?!

Charlie is a very happy boy and loves everyone! Lucy is a sweetie who likes women but really adores men! We would love to have them adopted together. They are bffs and deserve all the best of everything. Mostly, they need a good family to love.
