A bacterial infection transmitted by ticks, primarily affects regions in the northeastern United States, showing lower prevalence in Texas.
HOWEVER, the increased moisture this year has led to a rise in tick populations. It is essential to prioritize preventive measures for pets, including flea and tick prevention and potentially a Lyme vaccine based on their lifestyle.
While 90% of dogs testing positive for Lyme disease remain asymptomatic, some may develop severe kidney conditions.

With tomorrow being Hairball Awareness Day, we wanted to remind our cat parents about the importance of preventing hairballs.
Accumulated from excessive grooming, hairballs can build in your cat’s digestive system and either get coughed up or in some cases, need surgical removal.
If your cat is excessively vomiting, lethargic, loses their appetite, or has diarrhea or constipation, these may be signs of a blockage and you should contact our team immediately.

Sadly, our feline friends are not immune to the dangers of heartworms. New research is showing that it is far more common for cats to be infected than previously thought.
