Union Pacific Announces Scheduled Crossing Maintenance on E 30th Ave

Union Pacific Railroad will be conducting essential maintenance work on the railroad crossing at E 30th Ave. To ensure the safety of both workers and the public, this crossing will be closed for a two-day period.

Closure Details:
The closure will begin on October 1, 2024, at 8:00 AM and will end on October 2, 2024, at 4:00 PM. During this time, motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and plan for potential delays.

For westbound traffic, from E 30th Avenue, drivers should turn onto Lucille Drive, then onto E 43rd Avenue, and finally turn onto Halstead to return to 30th Avenue. Eastbound traffic should turn onto Halstead from E 30th Avenue, then onto E 43rd Avenue, and finally turn onto Lucille Drive to return to 30th Avenue. Please see the map of detour route.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance the safety and reliability of our railroad crossings. Union Pacific is committed to maintaining safe and efficient rail operations, and this maintenance is a vital part of ensuring the continued safety of the community and our rail network.

Dr. Miller spent the day in Stillwater at Oklahoma State University talking to some 3rd and 4th year veterinary students at their job fair. We’re anxious to find some more doctors to add to the practice! 🍎 🐶 🐱 👩🏼‍⚕️

Today is Pet Obesity Awareness Day.
60% of cats and 56% of dogs are overweight or obese! Did you know this statistic?!? Shocking numbers if you ask us. If you think your pet may be over weight please make an appointment to talk with your veterinarian so we can get them looking and feeling healthy again.

📣 Retirement Party for Dr. Smith 📣
Please join us Saturday September 2nd to wish Dr. Smith farewell and a happy retirement. We will be having a come and go party for our Apple Lane family and friends to celebrate his hard work and dedication to the Hutchinson community. We will be open normal appointment hours (8:30-11a) for the party and will not be seeing regular appointments that day. We hope you can join us!

🔥It's National Pet Fire Safety Day today, do you have a plan for your pets in the unfortunate event of fire? 🔥 Here's some Tips:
- Install fire detectors in your home.
- Practice an escape route with your pet.
- Know where your pet is likely to hide when scared.
- Help Firefighters help your pet:
**Keep pets kennels close to entrances for easy access.
**Keep collars on pets and leashes at the ready.
**Use a pet alert window cling and attach it to a front window. (We carry these in hospital, stop by if you are needing one.)
