Yearly blood work is a great tool to use when it comes to tracking the health of your dog or cat. Having a baseline of when they are healthy and keeping track of small changes can help pick up on disease issues early as they age. We offer comprehensive panels with yearly visits that check organ function, blood cell counts, and urine/stool samples. If you have any questions during your appointment, please ask our knowledgeable veterinarians or vet techs! Consider starting your pet on a wellness panel during their yearly visits this year!
UPDATE: We have found our way home!

Now is a great time to consider microchipping your pet! With the warm weather many dogs and cats start going outside more and it can be helpful to get them microchipped so they can find their way home if they end up lost and in the humane society or picked up by police. If you have any questions on microchipping or wish to set up an appointment, please give us a call 320-587-4044!

If you haven't given some thought to brushing your dog or cat's teeth, now is a great time to start! Doing this even once or twice a week can help keep tartar and disease down. Make sure to use a pet specific toothpaste like the ones we stock. Using a human one with fluoride can be dangerous for pets!

Soon we will be back to warm weather and able to take our canine companions on outdoor adventures! With that does come the risk of picking up some many legged foes! We know the best first line of defense is a monthly tick prevention, but a great back up is the lyme disease vaccine. If your dog has never had the vaccine before and you are interested in starting it, please call the clinic to schedule your appointment!
If your dog or cat is on a pill/tablet long term, why not use Pill Pockets to make it more enjoyable for you and them! If you have been in for a puppy visit you may also recognize these as the treats we smear on the table to keep your pup happy as they get their first vaccines! We have them in stock at the clinic for use at home too.
Just a friendly reminder that as Easter season approaches, please keep lilies out of reach for your cats! They can be very toxic and even life threatening!
We wanted to share some educational information on Feline Leukemia vaccination! If your feline friend likes to tap into their wild side and get outdoors, they could be at risk of contracting this virus from an infected cat! When your next vaccine appointment comes up, make sure to discuss the risks with the veterinary professional that helps you during your visit!
Is your little dog or cat not big on chewing dental treats? Scared your large dog will crack a tooth on a chew bone or other hard treat? PlaqueOff powder is your solution! It is a product you can place on wet or dry food to help reduce plaque, prevent heavy tartar, and help keep breath fresh! We have it in stock here at the clinic, if you are in for an appointment ask our vet techs about if it would be a good choice for your fur baby!

*SURGICAL VIDEO, VIEW WITH CAUTION* This dog came in looking bloated and the owner was concerned about discharge from the vulva. An x-ray revealed an enlarged uterus so the dog was scheduled for a spay. We suspected a pyometra, which is when a uterus becomes infected and fills with pus. This can be life threatening if the uterus ruptures before it can be removed. Here is the video during the spay!
