No matter what part of Texas you're in, please be sure to keep your pets safe during the cold weather! Hypothermia happens incredibly quickly! Be sure to get your pet to the vet if they exhibit any signs of illness or injury. Do not take your pets on errands during a freeze like this if you're going to leave them in the vehicle because it is just as dangerous as leaving them outside in freezing weather.

Hello and happy heatwave! Please, do not underestimate how hard the heat is on your pets! If you are feeling warm, imagine how your pet feels because they're unable to sweat like us and have lots of fur too!
*Keep fans and air conditioning on for them, place a bowl of ice cubes out in addition to their regular bowl of water for them to drink.
*Keep curtains and blinds closed during a bulk of the day to provide shade for them. Yes, shade for indoor pets is highly recommended!
*DO NOT EVER leave your pet in the car-even in the shade with/without the windows rolled down, they are no different than a human baby in that way. Heat can kill them!
*Walk pets before the sun has heated the sidewalks or after it has cooled down, this will prevent burns on their sensitive pads.

Taking precautions to keep your pets comfortable and safe will keep them from experiencing pain, distress and a trip to the vet to seek medical care.
