Meet Willow! She is a four-month-old, 3.2-lb bundle of pure joy! Pictured here at one of her "Happy Puppy" visits, she struggled to contain her love for the LVVS staff!

It is with mixed emotions that I am writing to inform you that Carole Patten has retired from LVVS as of 8/1/24. She has been at our front desk for over 21 years and has been the backbone of supporting the canine repro services at LVVS for many generations of dogs. From handling gazillions of repro questions from new breeders to experienced breeders, whelping questions to funny/bizarre repro questions, resuscitation of c-section puppies (hundreds if not thousands!) to coordinating appointments for breedings, pre-breeding screenings, etc., Carole's skills will be missed by me and our whole staff. Her retirement is well deserved and long overdue. Congratulations Carole!
I appreciate all she has done for me (even supporting me to get involved with my own show/sport dogs that are 100% owner handled Versatility Bronze qualified for their breed). Carole has promised us that we can still call her in for c-sections to help those babies take their first breaths. If anyone would like to share stories, reflections, photos, etc. for Carole, please send them to me and I'll compile those to forward to her.

LVVS is dedicated to the special needs of cats. Most cats are very adaptable, but they're also a very sensitive species, so changes to their life and environment can affect their stress levels. For most, feline anxiety arises from a combination of sounds, smells, and sights of strange animals.

We recognize this at LVVS and have built The Cat Side with your cat in mind: our waiting room is quiet, free of barking dogs and sudden noises; our exam rooms are spacious, well-lit, and comfortable. Our team of feline experts is committed to providing the highest level of care for your beloved companion.

A sad post today: A good samaritan brought in a cat who had been hit by a car. He has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is no longer in pain, but if he is owned, we wanted to try to find his human(s) so they can say goodbye. We do not know the location where he was found, but he was a young, unneutered male gray tabby with frost-bitten ears. Please reach out if you recognize him.

Did you know? Samoyeds have a double coat that keeps them warm in the Arctic! ❄️ These little ones might bring the "snow" in July, but we'll keep them healthy all year round!
