We are all very happy to be back outside. And I realized today I've been slacking on my posts about the values of horsemanship. Life gets lifey sometimes, I'll post one tonight♥️

Of course, I forgot to get pictures of our summer pasture when I dropped the horses off. But here's Archer in his new temporary home down the road, where he'll be helping socialize Wilder. Everyone is very happy to be out of the stalls and into pasture♥️

We are making the move back to summer pasture in Hydesville tomorrow. Please message me if you'd like to get on the summer lesson schedule, and I offer more than just riding lessons! I offer horsemanship lessons, mommy and me sessions, and I currently have one horse for lease available. Happy Wednesday, everyone!

There are so many values of horsemanship, and I'm going to post each day for the next week about the ones I love most. The one I'd like to start with is Trust.

Trust is a huge component when you're talking about getting on the back of a 1,000+ pound animal. It's also vital to the relationship you have with your horse in everything you do. Horses are prey animals, so their natural reaction to anything unknown is a flight response. By learning how to communicate effectively, you build a trust based relationship that allows a horse to trust you when you ask them of anything. Trust between the horse and rider is the solid foundation on which you can ask them to do something for you, and have them be willing to agree without fear. I pride myself in building a solid relationship of trust with my horses, and I love to teach others how to gain the trust of their equine partner, thereby building self-esteem and self-confidence in both horse and rider.

These horses trust us to do right by them, so it's up to us to facilitate a safe environment for them to do so.

Message me if you're interested in horsemanship or riding lessons. It's a wonderful way to expand your world.

I put Wilder's first ride on him today! We were too preoccupied to get pictures or video. His owner came out and assisted me and we were both so very happy with how he handled it all. SUCH a good mind on this c**t! He's awesome! We'll start pushing a little further each day and see what he thinks, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't afraid he'd blow up and dump me.🤣 Although it was a freshly worked arena, so the landing wouldn't have been too bad, haha! He figured out his balance quick and again, was really only concerned about what he could eat while I was up there.♥️ Looking forward to teaching this guy more stuff! He's got looks AND brains, a rare combination🤣🙏♥️

We're not quite ready to video the lope on the lunge yet, he's still learning consistency, but this dude is such a rockstar! We worked into a solid sweat today and he let me hang off the saddle like a monkey. His main concern was, "can I chew on you while you hang there?"🤣🥰♥️

Available for lease - must stay "in barn"(with me):

Dallas is about 23ish years old and stands about 15.2hh. He's an Arabian/Appaloosa mix and has plenty of life left. It has been recently concluded that he's not a huge fan of working in the arena, but he'll do it if asked. This guy loves to hit the trails! He's a total sweetheart, always greets you in the pasture, and loves a good grooming and cuddle session. He would be a great fit for an advanced beginner- advanced rider looking to have fun and poke around the trails or hop over some logs. He is available to be trailered off property for rides, but must remain in my care during his lease. Starting at 150$/month for one day a week of exclusive privileges, 200$/ month for 2 days exclusive privileges, or 350$/month for 4 days exclusive privileges. PM me if interested or if you have any questions. Dallas's last lessor greatly enjoyed her time with him, but she has moved up to our big mare Indy because she wants to continue her jumping training. Happy trails!

Wilder only protested once to the bit, and then he gave in as if to say, "well, I guess this is what we're doing today."🤣 He now lunges like he's been doing it his whole life, and today we lunged with the bridle and he was such a good boy. He's also yielding his hindquarters automatically according to my body position, which is definitely a big deal! Tomorrow we'll lunge with the saddle and bridle together, and see what he thinks of that. Good job, buddy!!♥️

It's only this guy's 6th day with me, and he's packing a saddle on the lunge like, "cool boss, what's next?" He's had zero experience with either before coming to me.

I'm excited to see his progress! Despite our rough start, he's coming right along. He even nickers for me now. I'm grateful to do right by this guy♥️

We've had a couple of rescheduled lessons today and tomorrow, if you'd like to get in for a session and see what we're all about, get a hold of me♥️

For the next couple of months until school is out, I've had some weekend availability open up for lessons. If you've been interested in lessons, but haven't been able to get on the weekend schedule, now is the time to message us! There are also still limited weekend spots open for summer, and plenty of weekday availability. ♥️ Lessons are conducted in Ferndale at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds until mid to late June, and then we pasture in Hydesville until October(or the beginning of consistent rain season).
