Of course, I forgot to get pictures of our summer pasture when I dropped the horses off. But here's Archer in his new temporary home down the road, where he'll be helping socialize Wilder. Everyone is very happy to be out of the stalls and into pasture♥️
We're not quite ready to video the lope on the lunge yet, he's still learning consistency, but this dude is such a rockstar! We worked into a solid sweat today and he let me hang off the saddle like a monkey. His main concern was, "can I chew on you while you hang there?"🤣🥰♥️

Wilder only protested once to the bit, and then he gave in as if to say, "well, I guess this is what we're doing today."🤣 He now lunges like he's been doing it his whole life, and today we lunged with the bridle and he was such a good boy. He's also yielding his hindquarters automatically according to my body position, which is definitely a big deal! Tomorrow we'll lunge with the saddle and bridle together, and see what he thinks of that. Good job, buddy!!♥️
Me: ok, little circle there.
Indy: Gallop? OK got it.
🙌🤦♀️🤣
Julia and Indy had a FABULOUS lesson today! They attacked some grid work and popped over a small cross rail at the end. Indy was worn out by the end of it, good day for the big mare. Check out stories for more videos of these two. ♥️
As a rider who grew up taking lessons in the city, there was hardly a time when my sessions were truly "private" in the arena. Sometimes there would be as many as a dozen riders in the arena at a time.
Today while I taught my lessons there were riders warming up for a Gymkhana and another trainer giving a lesson. All the riders were respectful of each other's space and we had a wonderful time successfully navigating around each other.
I'm so grateful for the ability to develop young riders in realistic settings. Sharing the arena is a wonderful exercise for any rider, a true test of the riders' ability to concentrate and communicate effectively with their mount. Today was awesome! And it's only halfway done!
Eva has been working so hard on her posting! She's a tiny little thing and that leg strength is really starting to build up! She and Souvey completed a mini course of ground poles at the trot, too. Today was fun🥰
Dallas and Julia took a trip to my favorite spot in Ferndale, the cemetery! What a great little adventure!♥️
Little Eva is getting stronger and stronger! She and Souvey killed it with their mini course today🥰
You gotta start somewhere with jumping, and Kendra got her start today! All of our schooling on the flat has really paid off, and I'm so excited for Kendra to keep learning! What a wonderful lesson we had today!🥰🦄
Well, we started off a little rough, but we're progressing just fine! Chicky fell off in warm up, and Addy found out what Souvey's competition side looks like. Eva is just wonderful and hasn't had any hang ups. We're all having fun! I'm so proud of chicky and Addy, facing struggles with their mounts, talking about how to improve, and making progress in their next run with smiles on their faces. That's what it's all about!!!♥️🦄🤠😍
All of our kiddos are getting excited for Gymkhana! Miss Addy has been working hard on learning to canter independently. Last night was her best night yet! We love you silly Dally boy♥️
