Yesterday we attended the Halcyon Winter Premiere horse show.

Proud of all my riders.

Nichole Eavey did the baby greens with Toby. Two seconds and a third. Toby was very confident today.

Ella Lebo and Dexter did the children's hunter at 2'3". Seriously think Dexter has separation anxiety. He schools perfectly but comes a little undone when by himself. This being said, Ella rode beautifully and had some lovely moments.

Addie Junk and Scout schooled well and showed great. I was planning to ride him too, but it wasn't necessary as Addie was very strong and confident. Scout is really trying to get his changes. Soon!!

Avery Hudson moved to Short Stirrup .Monarch was strutting his stuff!! Very forward and strong. Avery schooled him herself and managed to have respectable rounds.

Sophia and Bella McCutcheon had their first show!!! I picked the walk/trot division. Well, 24 year old Sadie and 25 year old Monarch decided that was boring!! Both girls rode through their nerves and by the last class had everything under control.

I was very proud that everyone rode. They didn't curl up and quit. They RODE!

The average flake of hay costs $.50

If ten boarders feel their horse is bored and needs a little hay, there goes $5.00.

The average wheelbarrow of sawdust cost $3.00.

If ten boarders feel there isn't enough bedding, there goes $30.00.

I forgot my fly spray and treats. Let's just use the lesson horse stuff.

How quickly a $20 bottle of fly spray and a $10 container of treats can disappear.

My point....

Most boarding facilities are on a very tight budget. EVERY PENNY COUNTS!

If you feel that your pony needs more, talk to the owner and offer to pay extra.

I'm thankful for those who are mindful and pay extra without being asked.

Be kind to your barn owner.

The struggle is real.
