this boy is just looking DAMN fine these days (and he only ended up with a few spots!). i'm still on the fence about wether or not i'll let those yellow spots on his lats fly, but i think i'll be making an exception for him. he's just too handsome to let someone else have him 🙄

willoughby was produced by Nightingale Geckos out of bahama mama and habanero! 🥰 he'll hopefully be breeding here next year with riptide and sugarcrash 🙂

I'm finally feeling better after my last procedure and I'm ready to jump back into the swing of things!

We've had more eggs laid by both Sorcha and Riptide since my last post, I'm waiting on Thalia to lay next here within the next couple weeks or so! The girls are doing great, Sorcha especially is holding her weight well after 3 clutches and ai couldn't be more proud of her. Riptide is about as lanky as a 20g juvenile but her appetite hasn't changed thankfully 🤣. We should have babies here around the middle of next month!!! 😁

Knowing what happens to stuck hemipenes, you'd have our reaction too! 😅

If your gecko's hemipenes are pr*****ed, they run the risk of drying out and requiring amputation. Here are our tips on what to do if that happens:

• Transfer your gecko to a small, clean enclosure with warm, damp paper towels to help keep things moist.

• Applying a small amount of water-based lubricant can help things retract

• Additionally, applying a small amount of organic honey can help things along by encouraging the licking and biting behavior that helps him tuck his bits away.

• Monitor the situation, and if things don't improve or your gecko seems stressed, contact your vet and schedule a visit as soon as possible. Sometimes they can help him retract his hemipenes, but in other situations, surgery may be required.
