The ladies have settled into fall and the colder weather quite nicely. They are laying eggs at record speed for our little farm. Please come stop by for farm fresh organic eggs!

We found our queen bee! (We named her Joy!). There were so many more bees everywhere this time we checked the hive. They have build enough foundation comb, honey stores and nurseries in the bottom brood box that we decided to add a second brood box for them to grow into!
It is amazing to me at how hard working bees are. Everyone has a job to do and does it. They are constantly busy and seem to get so much done! At the same time, they are gentle and quiet. They coexist with the chickens perfectly so far. Kelsea and I have been able to taste some of the honey. It is light and sweet. These are amazing creatures!

Today we did a quick check on the Ladies of the Hive. It is amazing how much work they have done in 7 short days. They are so sweet and patient with Kelsea and me as we figure things out. Check out the last picture! You can see their cute little faces. 🙂
