Brighton Performance Horses Wraps Up an Outstanding 2024 Season!

We had a fantastic time celebrating a successful year at the Idaho Reining Horse Association’s banquet and awards night!

Congratulations to our riders on their incredible achievements:
• Abby Jessen & Dream About Coronas – Winner of the Rookie 2 saddle and Youth saddle! Also earned a 1st place buckle in Rookie 1, plus 3rd place in 13 & Under and Rookie 2. Additionally, Dream About Coronas placed 2nd in Int Open with Thomas.
• Addison Black & Electra Cute Ya – Earned her Green Reiner buckle and graduated from the Green Reiner division in just two years! Also took home the 1st place buckle in Youth 14-18 and placed 2nd in Rookie 1 and 2.
• Maddison Schutte & Palefaces Gus – Winner of the Rookie 1 Traveling Trophy, making her the third Brighton team member in a row to claim this honor! Also finished 2nd in Rookie 1.
• Julie VanOrden & Finals Nite – Earned her Green Reiner buckle and became a Green Reining graduate! Finals Nite had a standout season, taking 1st place in Open, Int Open, Novice Horse Open L1 & L2. Smarty Face Dunnit also shined, winning Ltd Open and placing 2nd in Novice Horse Open L1 & L2.
• Blakley Hansen’s horse HN Face the Wall – Took 1st place in Snaffle Bit Open and 3rd place in Green Horse Open with Thomas.
• Thomas Brighton – Named Open Rider of the Year!

The stall barn is now enclosed, and we’re ready to start working on the interior. Our next steps while they working on the arena, include framing rooms, pouring concrete alleyways, and building stalls. First, we’ll cover the garage door openings and heat the space. We put a lot of thought into different layouts and are thrilled with the final design. The top priorities were flow and efficiency, and we believe we’ve achieved both. We can’t wait to see it all come together!

As the 2024 season has come to an end I have to give a shout out to this mare, Frosted Mercedes, Aka Spice, and to Thomas for training her! Her approach and stop is so smooth if you are needing a horse to teach you how to stop Jojo is the one for you! She is easy to get along with, hauls great and is good at new places. Keep her in training or at home and haul in for lessons, she stays broke.

The IdRHA Fall Final show was great. We appreciate everyone on our team and have a lot of fun with all of you.
🏅Thomas with Finals Nite was 2nd in the Open and Int Open, 1st in Lt Open, 4th in the NRHA Open Marturby L4 and 1st in L1. In a Novice Horse Open L1 and L2 IdRHA and NRHA he tied with himself on Smarty Face Dunnit. For owner on both horses, Julie VanOrden. Was also 3rd in Int Open on Dream About Coronas for owner Jennifer Jessen.On HN Face The Wall he was 3rd in the Green Horse and Tied for 1st in the Snaffle for owner, Paige Hansen.
🏅Belinda and Smokin By Starlight was 2nd in Green Reiner and 3rd in Prime Time Rookie.
🏅Mallery and Spooks Gotta Sparkle were 4th in 13-under and 1st in Mares.
🏅Madison and Palefaces Gus were 3rd in Rookie 1 and 6th in 13-under.
🏅Addyson and Electra Cute Ya were 1st in 14-18, 1st in Green Reiner, and in the top 10 in Rookie 1 and 2.

Concrete is done! With the concrete done I can really visualize how it’s going to look now. I’m standing close to one end of the arena. As I turn you see the doors leading to the ally way of the stall barn.

A lot of progress is being made with the concrete. Shout out to JM Core Concrete, LLC. for doing a fantastic job and working hard to get this done! We sure appreciate all of your quality work.
