Rottweilers are one of the smartest dog breeds. They are intelligent and willing to please, which makes them highly trainable. However, they can be a challenge for first-time dog owners as they require firm, consistent training with clear expectations and structure that is also based on positive praise and reward. You have to build trust with a Rottie as a confident leader. Inconsistent training, harsh tones or training methods, or fear-based training damages the bond between you and your dog, which can also lead to them becoming stubborn and unresponsive to your commands. As such, they are recommended for more experienced owners, and puppy training classes are recommended for novice owners. It’s also important to start leash training early and to train your dog not to jump up. Rotties are big puppies that grow into large, strong, and powerful dogs. As they grow in size and strength, they can easily become out of hand if not trained to walk well on a leash and can easily injure someone if permitted to jump on them.

It is important to know that our litters are quickly reserved. Additionally, since we cannot guarantee the number of puppies that come from a litter it is difficult for us to guarantee one from a certain litter. This is, unless it is your spot on the wait list or you have made reservations for the litter by contacting in advance. If you are waiting to view, it's possible the entire litter may already be called for!

Always look for a reputable breeder who tests their dogs to ensure they are free of genetic diseases. Also, be careful not to buy a puppy from an irresponsible breeder or a puppy mill. If you put these things into consideration, you will not only be taking home your perfect companion. You will also give yourself peace of mind later on as your Rottie gracefully ages
