We work with a lot of ,behaviorial issues.reactivity.leash reactivity/aggression. We are located in Imperial Beach CA 91932. we train working line dogs and their owners. we specialize in behavioral issues, basic obedience. which is the foundation for success with any dog. we build a relationship with our students we make training fun.

Lets talk about new student Dexter.Dexter is 6 months old.Hes was rescued from the humane society 2 weeks ago.Hes humans...

Lets talk about new student
Dexter.
Dexter is 6 months old.
Hes was rescued from the humane society 2 weeks ago.
Hes humans have only had him for the 2 weeks.
After evaluating him i could see whats going on.
#1.hes pretty high drive.
#2.hes highly reactive to dogs kids and some people.
The key is why?
My diagnosis.
He has never been socialized when young.
He has had no environmental socialization iether.
His reactivity is based out of fear.
At the busy park where i train.it was a lot for him...but also what he needs.
So much activity and movement.
Many times he would take treats.sometimes his anxiety was too high.
We put him on a mighty paws martingale collar to start.worked on leash handling and leash pressure.
Then i put him on a long line played a little ball to build that bond between handler and dog .the idea is to get him addicted to a particular toy.
Overall we let him get used to this busy park.
Watching hes body language and moving outside of his bubble.the distance at which he loses his mind when he gets close enough to a dog.we rewarded calm behavior when we could get it.
After 75 minutes.he was noticeably calmer and lss stressed.
Dexter is going to need alot of work.
But he will get through it.

Anyone remember Dutch Shepherd SDIT Magnus.
Well Magnus, Kira and handlor Kelton moved to Colorado.
Kelton was a great student and is continuing the training both dogs need.
Kelton was in a pretty bad motorcycle accident 2 months ago.broken bones.surgeries etc..so hes moving with labor.cant use his left arm right now.
The man was in great physical shape.
So thats helping the healing process.

Out training today with 18 week old Maligator Odin.
He got a little frisky with the mouthing.
I tried to wipe the blood off with my hand(dumb idea)and smeared it all over.
It wasn't that bad.
Then he realized and tried to clean up the mess he made of my arm.lol.
Kinda reminded me of lil Kobie.
Odin is a pure bred, working line Malinois.
The handlers are great and were progressing nicely.
I love these dogs!
Blood,scars and all.

Dealing with dogs who bark too much at a barrier.

We have a client in New Mexico with a reactive malinois named Odie.
Theres a good chance they will bring him out here for board and train.
In the meantime we're trying to help virtually.
This is a short tutorial on how we manage it and condition and communicate with the dogs.
