Miss Able

Miss Able Miss Able, a Rhesus monkey, along with her sister astronaut Miss Baker, was the first U.S. animal to fly in space and return alive, May 28, 1959.

Miss Able was born on Monkey Island at the Ralph Mitchell Zoo in Independence, Kansas.
