WARNING: Crop needle feedings should only be done by an experienced Aviculturist. One wrong move could send food into your birds lungs, causing instant death.
Crop Needle Feeding:
When feeding birds with a crop needle, make sure you are holding your birds head firmly in place. The needle needs to be inserted into the birds right side of the mouth (your left) and down into their crop, (You should be able to feel the crop needle along your thumb.) Inserting the crop needle into the birds left side of the mouth, will go directly into their lungs, resulting in death.
If you ever need help hand feeding a bird, ask an experienced Avian Breeder, or your Avian Veterinarian. This method works for me and is quick when having to hand feed multiple birds. Make sure you clean/sanitize all bowls and crop needle pieces when you are finished.
