Before you reach out about our bearded silkies, please read this entirely! Most birds will be listed as either pet quality or breeding quality. Pet quality juveniles/grow outs that are uns*xed will usually be priced $25 due to flaws that prevent them from being selected for our breeding/show program. For clarity, pet quality silkies may have incorrect number of toes or a straight comb which are no

t within the “standard of perfection” for the breed. This will usually be something I list in the ad. Breeding quality birds will be higher priced due to their good qualities that may benefit a breeding program. So please be aware when you reach out, and keep your budget in mind so we do not waste each other’s time. You can expect my s*xed breeder quality birds to sell for $50+ for cockerels or $60+ for pullets. Newly hatched chicks are priced at $15 until 4-weeks-old at which point they go up $5. So, expect a 6-week-old or older uns*xed chick to be $20. Also note, I generally only sell chicks at hatch that are pet quality (generally those with missing or extra toes or pigment holes). You can still expect my pet quality birds to be that “nice fluffy type” (big crests and cushions) everyone loves as that is what I breed for! However, with standard of perfection in mind, certain things are cause for DQ right off the bat. I hold on to most chicks to grow out and see how they develop before selling them. If you are looking for silkie chicks, also be aware THEY SELL AS STRAIGHT RUN. You cannot s*x silkies the way you can some other breeds. I’m fact, most silkies are so difficult to s*x it may not be 100% certain until it either crows or lays an egg! Generally, I tell people you should not try to s*x a bird until at least 5-6 months. DNA tests can be done but they are pricy, and from my research, the cost of doing DNA testing does not offset itself on my end. Unless you are buying an older grown out bird, I will not be able to tell you the s*x. Please don’t contact me asking for pullets only as I generally will not have lone pullets available. Most pullets will be sold with a cockerel of your choosing. Additionally, I cannot sell single chicks as it is very important to me that my birds thrive regardless whether I keep them with me or not, and selling just one chick without a friend is not fair to that chick and it will not thrive. Silkie hatching eggs are periodically available for $60/doz. I will post when my incubators are full and this will be first come first serve. Eggs must be paid for up front before I begin collection. I do not ship eggs. We are NPIP and AI clean, we will ship grow-outs and adult birds March-June and September-November. Shipping is usually around $100 (depending on location) plus $20 for a biosecure shipping box. I also have large to extra large eating eggs available from my rainbow layers. They are $5/doz and collected daily from our very loved and spoiled mixed flock of large fowl hens. I feed them and keep my yard 100% organic and ensure they get the highest quality nutrition which in turn, makes my eating eggs much healthier and higher in omegas then most others!

Hello friends!!!

It has been a while since I posted anything here on my farm page. I wanted to give an update on things a bit… for the foreseeable future I am taking a step back from breeding and showing. A hiatus if you will.

Life has just gotten much more busy over the last year and expenses to keep my standard of care for my birds had just increased exponentially. As such, I decided to let the last of my adult breeders go to a trusted friend where I can get access to my lines again if and when I decide to get started again.

For now, I’ve kept only a select few of my children’s favorites as pets—mostly to soften the blow they felt by this decision. I don’t think I’ll be out of it forever, but right now my family needs me the most and I must focus my energy there.

Please know, I am always here and happy to answer questions and help as I’ve always been! I just may not be checking in on this page quite as much as I was. I appreciate all of you I’ve had the opportunity to learn from and cross paths with! I still love and adore silkies and will lovingly follow your own posts with your birds and be cheering you on! ❤️

Happy Summer Solstice!!! Today marks the first day of summer, the day with the longest daylight hours, and the shortest night of the year!

Since I’ve had several folks reach out as they run out of the elderberry syrup I made back in the fall, I have decided to pull the last of the foraged berries from my deep freezer and start another oxymel. The oxymel will take around 2 weeks to complete before I will finish the syrup. I anticipate getting around 9 cups total which means I’ll have around 6 (8oz) bottles to sell to those who need them for those who haven’t already reached out.

I will offer shipping as my recipe is shelf stable for a year. Bottles are $25 each and shipping will be $10.

This will be the last batch I make until the berries begin to ripen through August-September. Likely the next batch will be made in October. 🌞🌻🫶🏻

For not having really anytime to prepare aside from the last 24 hours, and not really even planning to show until the fall, I’m not upset! These birds got yanked out of breeding pens and went to show. 🤣All worth it to support The Kentuckiana Poultry Club Show—it was very laid back and well run! It also was a lovely time with lots of great company to spend the morning with! I hope there will be many more going forward for all to enjoy!

Putting the finishing touches on some birds headed to the Kentuckiana Poultry Club Show tomorrow. Bowie, in Bowie fashion, is of course doing a random molt… like he does a few days before every show we attend! But he’s still dapper. 💙

I’ll be attending the Kentuckiana Poultry Club show May 18th! If anyone else is going and is in need of eggs or black juvies let me know! I have around 15 black silkies that are 3 months needing new coops. I can also bring eggs!l

Hey !!

Due to the recent issues others have had with USPS and shipping live birds (especially through the Tennessee hub) I am not comfortable shipping lives right now, unless guaranteed they won’t travel through that hub.

However, I’m more than willing to send birds with Liz. I have had people ask about sending eggs with her too and I’m happy to do that also. I think I will narrow down some selections on my blacks tonight and tomorrow and start posting them. They are still young, just 3 months, so I can’t promise gender. Price will be dependent on many things so please visit my pinned post regarding that. Most will be $50+ and you will need to purchase at least 2.

Ok guys!! Regarding giveaway… I think something is wonky with Facebook. So I need to apologize if you are in fact following but it’s not showing for me for some reason. I’m currently sharing screen shots with several folks who are clearly following me on their end but it’s not showing up for me on my end and even giving me the “invite to follow” icon by their name!

Please know I really want this page to be a fun, happy space for all! I was honestly shocked going through the list (5x to be exact to double check myself) and wasn’t finding more then half the people who participated. Sooooo we will do a second spin.

I’m going to work on this and reach out to some folks I know do giveaways and see how they do this. But at this point I’m just going to assume everyone who commented is truly following and you’ll be added in the next spin.

Keep in mind I’m giving away free eggs as a thank you! So I’ll fulfill the current winner and then will work on the next one when we spin again. It may take a few weeks as I’m a SMALL program and I can’t always count on how many eggs my girls will throw for me! I need the girls to cooperate at the same time so I can get a dozen plus to each winner within enough time that development isn’t compromised!

Again, my apologies and I will work this out and be in touch with everyone! 🙏🏻❤️ I have a lot going on the rest of this week and will be out of town this weekend but will try to get a wheel together to spin by Sunday or Monday!

Picture below of our new puppy as I think her expression mirrors mine at the moment!
