Meet one of our latest rescued puppy, Valentino Rossi 🐕
Little Rossi appeared on a caring person's doorstep, looking poorly and miserable. Our team rushed to pick him up and was surprised to see how relaxed he was on a bike 🛵 (hence his name 😉). This poor puppy certainly had an owner, but may have been abandoned because of his skin issue, which is easily treatable.
Valentino suffers from dermatitis and will need treatment and baths. Once ready, he will be vaccinated and neutered and will be able to meet the rest of the Dog House pack!Despite the state of his skin, you can already tell how cute and fluffy this little guy is! Rossi is a playful puppy (he is very good at playing fetch) and everyone at the Dog House adores him!
Thank you to his guardian angel who contacted us to help him and made a donation towards his treatment! We don't know how Valentino got to the third floor of the building, but he obviously chose the right doorstep! ‎

Great News! South Korea will soon introduce a bill that will ban the dog meat trade by 2027!🎉
Millions of dogs are still killed annually for the dog meat trade in Asia, among them a lot of stolen family pets. Among the alleged benefits are increased sexual stamina and regulated body heat. While these are not supported by any studies, data have shown that the brutal and unhygienic slaughter and butchery of dogs and the consumption of meat puts humans at risk and it has been linked to outbreaks of trichinosis, cholera and rabies.
According to a 2023 Nielsen/HSI survey, the vast majority of South Koreans (86%) have little to no intention of consuming dog meat in the future. A majority (57%) support a ban on the dog meat industry with animal cruelty being mentioned as top reason for those supporting a ban (53%). In similar surveys, 91% of Vietnamese citizens say the trade should be banned.
Let's hope that South Korea will act as an example for other countries in Asia to follow.🌟 ‎

TransformationTuesday: Bo, from a mangy puppy to a fluffy couch potato
Bo was rescued from the streets of DaNang and brought to us by a concerned passer by. She was suffering from severe mange and was malnourished and weak.
Everyone quickly fell in love with her gentle demeanor, and she was a favorite of both our staff and the residents of the dog house. She had also won the hearts of her rescuers, who couldn't forget her and came to visit her regularly.
They recently decided to foster her to see if she would get along with their pup, Nugget. We are happy to share that things are going great so far! Nugget and Bo are getting along great and Bo has discovered the joy of napping on a couch and having 2 humans at her disposal for cuddles. Thank you to Sarah and her husband (and Nugget!) for caring for this beautiful girl! ‎

This is a story about Den. Den was an elderly dog who lived on Che Lan Vien. Everyday he'd come to a local yoga studio where he'd spent time lounging and taking naps. He was known in the neighborhood because of characteristic white circles around his eyes.
One day Den got very sick and died almost instantly. He was poisoned. A man who was passing by offered to help with the burial. A good place was found for Den for his final rest.
Afterwards, the owner became suspicious of this random helpful man. She had a bad feeling and as it turned out, she was right. When she went to check, Den's grave was empty, his body nowhere to be found.
Den didn't die of old age, the stranger poisoned him, dug out his grave and took his body to eat.
There are superstitions around black cats and dogs. Some people believe that they have special properties and that's why they want to eat them.
We're sharing his story because Den deserved better. All dogs do. ‎

Our team recently came across this injured dog. His leg was ran over by a motorbike. His owner loves him very much, but needed help with a vet visit.
This poor pup might not look it, but he is actually quite lucky... Although he cannot put any weight on his front paw, he thankfully did not sustain any broken bones and should make a full recovery.

Baloo was rescued in August 23 close to the Linh Ung Pagoda. He was probably dumped there by his previous family. Baloo was suffering from terrible mange. No pup should have to go through this
With treatment, his skin is healing and he has been neutered and vaccinated.

From the harshness of Vietnamese street life to the Dolce Vita 💞 This is the kind of story we never get tired of!
Lucky was spotted by a family on holiday in Vietnam. The young puppy was covered in abscesses, malnourished and weak. With love and care from our vets, volunteers, and staff, Lucky made a full recovery and became a firm favourite at the shelter. But the family couldn't forget about him, not only did they make a donation to help us care for Lucky but they decided to adopt him! 🥳
After a long journey from Da Nang to Italy, Lucky settled into his new family as if he had lived there all his life. We're absolutely thrilled to see him all grown up and so happy!

Luna came to us neglected, starving, suffering from tick fever, and bladder infections. She was paralysed from the waist down.
