"I've made this dozens of times and the family cannot get enough! The sauce is just incredible, I sometimes double it! Otherwise I go by the recipe and I just couldn't recommend it more! Truly easy enough for any cook to tackle."

BREAKING: GENERAL MOTORS LAYING OFF OVER 1,000 EMPLOYEES, 600 OF WHICH ARE LOCATED IN WARREN, MICHIGAN
General Motors is throwing it's hat into the massive job cuts in the auto industry by announcing they are laying off over 1,000 salaried employees with more than 600 of them being from the Warren Tech Center in Warren, Michigan.
In a statement, GM spokesperson Kevin Kelly said as the company builds its future it "must simplify for speed and excellence, make bold choices, and prioritize the investments that will have the greatest impact. As a result, we’re reducing certain teams within the Software and Services organization. We are grateful to those who helped establish a strong foundation that positions GM to lead moving forward."
This comes just about a week after Stellantis said they plan to permanently eliminate 2,450 UAW jobs at it's truck manufacturing facility in Warren no later than the 2nd week of October when they end production of the Ram 1500 Classic.

I kept hearing a strange noise and couldn’t find it. Until…I came through the living room and found Knox inside the trash can by Mac’s chair. He is such a stinker. He learned how to open the lid, then must have jumped in from the arm of Mac’s chair. I guess i will need to find something heavy to go on top. ❤️ Gotta love em! ❤️

My heart is heavy as I write this today. Last evening our precious Pearl crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Most of you are aware of Pearl's heart condition. She had been on 3 medications. Initially, her spells were triggered by intense excitement. However, they began to happen much more often from mundane things like stepping out on the snow, opening the door to go outside, or getting a favored treat. All we could do was hold her and love her.

Including last night she had 5 really bad spells. Each time we thought this was it. But we were able to pray her back to us. Last night the Lord needed her more. I can't blame him, she is beautiful and very sweet-natured.

In honor of Sweet Pearl, please give your fur family a little extra love. Make sure they have all of their needs and most of their wants. Give them a little more love today and tell them it is from Pearl.

GOD Bless

UPDATE: 12/5/23-Thank you to everyone for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. Today our girl had another bad seizure. We took her to the vet again. The consensus was she is actually having seizures as well as the bad heart. The doctor started her on phenobarbital. It can take 7-10 days for it to build up to a consistent level. She will continue to take her heart medication. We are hoping this will control the seizures and she can live a comfortable life. Thank you all again. ❤️❤️❤️

PLEASE PRAY for our sweet little girl Pearl. I have mentioned before she has a significant heart murmur. X-rays indicated the heart is so large she would not likely survive spay surgery. She has seizures, for lack of a better term. They typically last 60 seconds or so. She has been in medication for that. The frequency of those spells has increased. On Thursday the vet put her on Lasiks to keep fluid off her heart. Sunday morning she had a spell that I thought killed her. Her body was limp. Her head flopped. Her tongue was out and wouldn’t stay in. Her gums and tongue were grey blue. She did continue to breath and her heart, while irregular, kept beating. Mac and I held her, petting and talking to her. After about 15-20 minutes she started trying to move. She cried as if in pain for another 20 minutes. After an hour she calmed down and rested. She did recover enough to get down and walk a bit. She had no interest in food but sniffed around. I put a little milk in a bowl for her and that she did enjoy. A few hours later she was back to her normal self. That was so welcomed. This morning I called the vet and let them know. He has started her in the last medication option for her., Lisopril with a warning that she may not last long. We have known from the time she was diagnosed with the heart murmur that she would not live a long life. We are just not prepared to lose her so soon. So please pray for Pearl to get stronger and pray for us when she does cross. Thanks for reading this plea.

Beautiful story

Beautiful story

I absolutely love this story........ It made me cry. Very touching.
"An 87 Year Old College Student Named Rose
The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know.
I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned round to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me
with a smile that lit up her entire being.
She said, “Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?”
I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze.
“Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?” I asked.
She jokingly replied, “I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids…”
“No seriously,” I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.
“I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!” she told me.
After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the
next three months, we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this “time machine”
as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was
introduced and stepped up to the podium.
As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, “I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell
you what I know.”
As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, “We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop
playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day.
You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.
We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it!There is a huge difference between growing
older and growing up.
If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old.
If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.
Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change.
Have no regrets.
The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those
with regrets.”
She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.”
She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.
At the year’s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died
peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’s
never too late to be all you can possibly be .When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they’ll really enjoy it!
These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.
REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS
OPTIONAL.
We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give."

“When you see someone sitting on the floor with their dog on them in public (like in this photo), they aren't just "cuddling" their dog. The dog is actually actively performing a task called deep pressure therapy.
9 out of 10 times if you see someone like this, they are experiencing some kind of medical episode. This is not the time to ask them questions, ask/attempt to pet their dog etc. At most, ask if the handler is OK and needs anything but nothing more.
This task can help with many different medical issues but for me when Levi does this, he is helping lower my heart rate and thus helping to prevent a fainting episode!
Service dogs are so amazing. They have such big jobs which is why it's so important to never distract them.”
