๐ŸŽ„โ™ฅ๏ธ๐‹๐จ๐ค๐ขโ€™๐ฌ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ฎ๐ž ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒโ™ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŽ„

๐Ÿ ๐ฒ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ฌ ago today, right about this exact time of day, ๐‹๐จ๐ค๐ข was found walking down the middle of 400 highway east of the Independence exit.

A compassionate family traveling through for the holidays stopped and got him off the highway. They called ๐€๐–๐Ž๐‹, but we house dogs. We donโ€™t pick them up, and that Christmas Eve 2 years ago there wasnโ€™t a single empty kennel. We couldnโ€™t take him inโ€ฆbut I couldnโ€™t leave him there.

With the help of other dedicated volunteers, we arranged for someone to pick him up because I committed to foster him.

Little did I know that ๐‹๐จ๐ค๐ขโ€™๐ฌ ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ฎ๐ž ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ was actually ๐‹๐จ๐ค๐ขโ€™๐ฌ ๐†๐จ๐ญ๐œ๐ก๐š ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ. This emaciated, sick, exhausted, boy came home ๐Ÿก with me and he never left. 30lbs heavier and much healthierโ€ฆ๐‹๐จ๐ค๐ข is home.

Deciding to foster, and then adopt ๐‹๐จ๐ค๐ข was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
๐…๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  truly does SAVE LIVES and so does ADOPTING. โ™ฅ๏ธ

So on this Christmas Eve, when his outcome could have been a tragedy instead of a celebration, I just want to sayโ€ฆHappy ๐†๐จ๐ญ๐œ๐ก๐š ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐‹๐จ๐ค๐ข. I wouldnโ€™t know what to do without you. โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ

Whatโ€™s not to love about ๐‡๐š๐ฆ?? This big boy is 60lbs of unbridled fun and goofiness.

๐‡๐š๐ฆ loves people, is dog friendly and would be an excellent watch dog as he alerts to strangers. Once he meets them though, watch outโ€ฆ๐‡๐š๐ฆ is everyoneโ€™s best friend and likes to show it.

๐‡๐š๐ฆ does well in the car, and does very well on doggy day out trips. He is the perfect gentleman, taking treats gently from your hand.

๐‡๐š๐ฆโ€™s biggest flawโ€ฆjumping. Itโ€™s definitely something he needs work on. He just gets so excited for your love and attention.

๐‡๐š๐ฆ is one of our longest residents and has been with ๐€๐–๐Ž๐‹ heartbreakingly longโ€ฆmore than ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐ฐ๐ž๐ž๐ค๐ฌ!! ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ญ This is too long to be in the shelter, and yet he remains such a happy, loving boy. ๐‡๐š๐ฆ deserves a home.
