We have been pretty quiet here on Social Media. We have been busy making plans for the program and what that requires with the shift in the economy. Our responsibility will always be to our dogs. Our parent dogs and our puppies that we raise. With that said, that means making hard decisions. Introducing our new Hopeful Mama, Julep! Julep is a Black and Tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that came from a wonderful, ethical breeder located here in NC! She comes from fully health tested parents with healthy hearts! Julep also holds a little secret…she carries chocolate!! If Julep passes all her health tests we plan to have gorgeous cavapoos (some Phantom Merle’s!) and cuddly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies (some chocolate!)! Pockets’ “Roaring 20’s” Litter have moved up in their curriculum! This week they were introduced to the crate, a designated potty area, novelty items daily, sound exposure and our 10-Point Touch Tolerance Exercise! They are moving along like champs. I can’t believe they are 3 weeks old!

It’s with a very heavy heart that we must inform you that Mr. Bootlegger passed away on Saturday evening at 10:23 pm. He lost his battle against aspiration pneumonia and fought harder than any little baby should. We held him while he took his last breath. We want to thank every single one of you for your love and support while we worked so hard to save his life. Things we knew about him already at 2 weeks young:
1: He loved to be scratched behind his ears
2: He would snuggle himself in the crook of your neck to get warm
3: He didn’t mind crowd surfing on top of his sibling so he could get to the milk bar
4: And most importantly… he was loved
Rest in peace our little Bootlegger 💙 .

Haze from our “Bright Sunlight” Litter just got his Health Certificate today so he can fly his way home to California this weekend! This is always a hard week for us. We sneak in as many extra cuddles as possible before we have to goodbye. 😢

Our “Roaring 20’s” Litter will be a week old tomorrow. They have been busy working on their Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction work this week. This precious time in there life has always been one of our favorite phases!

Our “Bright Sunlight” Litter turned 6 weeks old yesterday! I can’t believe they go home in just two weeks! This week, their curriculum area expanded and they are all sleeping in their crates at night. I wish time would slow down so I could have longer than just two more weeks to snuggle with all of them. ☀️🐶☀️🐶☀️🐶☀️🐶☀️

Pockets gave birth to 10 gorgeous puppies Friday night! We have 4 boys and 6 girls. And like always, Pockets did not disappoint in wowing us with so many beautiful colors! Mama and puppies are doing wonderful and are resting and bonding just like they should. Litter theme will be announced later this week!

Here they are! Pockets’ Pumpkin Patch Litter! We are so in love with them already! 😍

I asked my 8 year old daughter to look over mom and the puppies while I tried to get an hour of sleep (I was up all night delivering). She knows when it’s a “get mom” situation and is the most gentle spirit. I have made her a part of my program in almost every aspect to teach her the importance of caring for beings that cannot care for themselves. To teach her that loving all living things is truly our only purpose while here on earth. She knows the protocol; she must first take off her shoes, wash her hands and then use hand sanitizer before entering the puppy nursery. I’m so glad I got this moment on video. The puppy she is holding to Pockets has been crying, she is showing her that the puppy is okay. I’m one lucky soul to be the one who this girl calls mama.

It’s that time again, where I get hurt again! I can’t believe they are almost 8 weeks old! They have all stollen my heart. It helps knowing they will be going to amazing families that love them!

5 weeks old today! They absolutely loved this exposure item last night. Every day we expose them to new things in order to teach them that the world is safe, people are kind and dogs are friendly. Hint: Water play is coming up soon! 🥰

I get asked all the time “Just how often do you love on them?”. Ummmm, all the time! Why wouldn’t I? To teach them that the world is safe and people are kind is my sole responsibility since I brought them into this world.

Let me be clear about a few things:1. No, I’m not going to actually hit anyone. I DO NOT believe violence is the answer to anything.2. Doodle breeders CAN be ethical and responsible breeders. In fact, ethical doodle breeders take responsible breeding seriously. Doing every type of health test possible (All OFA tests, PennHIP and DNA tests) before using any canine in our breeding program. So many of us take a breeders oath and a personal oath to ALWAYS do better. Breed with a purpose. Always putting mamas and pups health first, even when it means our own health takes a back seat.3. Sometimes you have to realize that what makes people so awesome is that we all have different opinions. Not everyone will be behind you, so surround yourself with those who have your back.
