Thought I'd post one more video so everyone can tell me I should be powerwashing my hides! Ok...build me a power washing buildin' to stay warm, come clean the mess when I'm done and hook up water to the outside because I don't have an outside spigot and put salt down so my clients don't fall when all the water freezes. But, hey keep commenting because I get more business with more views... oh and I'm middle aged and dgaf 😃 💋 Luv yinz all!

Putting a PSA out there... FOR WHITETAIL DEER MOUNTS

NOT ALL PROCESSORS ARE THE SAME FOR DEER MEAT AND CAPE

This season has been pretty good for capes I have gotten in!

But I have recently taken in a few that have had a bad odor which equals rot and that equals bad. (One of which was at roadkill level) If you do not know if your processor gets to your deer right away, or calls and says your cape is ready, please pick it up immediately. And I mean that day. It could be left lying on the floor in some nasties and bacteria on a potential mount is BAD.

Deer are pretty resilient but your pushing it after a few days. And that's from the day of Harvest!! If I smell an odor just coming in the door, be prepared to buy a new cape. It may be saved but let's not push it.

You take care of your meat that you eat, have the same respect for the rest of the animal.

Any mammals, please don't gut them out and get them to me ASAP.

So this ruffed grouse ended up not being good for a full mount, but better yet, was good for a frame! 10x10 on the inside. (Probably should have went a touch smaller due to running out of feathers). First very small feather art as you can see!! Hours of work!! This did go behind glass.

Black squirrel all done! Custom bark backing is included!
Intake for hunting season has slowed down mounting but Its getting there!

Sometimes that wonderful elixir of bean soup isn't enough to have a perfect day... not all capes flesh perfect but the extra meat on it is definitely helpful for me!

Its been a great 2024 season! 2025 is in full swing and deer are rolling in! Reminder to cool off the cape right away, if you are not sure how to cape out the head, please just bring it here and the quicker the better! Congrats on the hunters so far and good luck to the future hunters!!

The last of 2024 deer! This guy had all the character and then some! Deaf in the drooped ear, huge scar on top of his head, even larger behind his ears. All kinds of wounds on his body. Client opted to keep the scars and we had to bring them back to color.
