Chihuahuas are one of the longest living dog breeds, perhaps they are also one of the smallest dog breed. Chihuahuas live an average of 15 to 20 years. Ticks mostly stick to one place to feed. As they feed on your dog’s blood, they can grow from the size of a pinhead to the size of a pea, depending on how long they have been there. You should feel a small bump if your dog has a tick. Check the skin for areas that appear red or irritated, and watch your dog for signs of excessive scratching or licking in any particular areas. This can be a sign that a tick has attached itself to the skin in this spot.

Starting at the head, run your hands over your dog’s body, using your fingers like the teeth of a comb. Make sure to look under the collar, in and behind the ears, and under the tail. Ticks are drawn to the dark, hidden and hairless areas, so pay particular attention to your dog’s head, neck, groin, feet, armpits, and ears.

Pit Bulls are fighter dogs and they will enthusiastically go after their task until completed! They have a very powerful jaw and bite and are well-known to not release their bite so easily! Therefore, they should be trained and socialized from an early age in order to avoid unnecessary dangerous situations!
