The design was decided by our store owner’s daughter. She even installed the accent wall herself! Thank you Jaclyn!! She also picked out our new kitchenette backsplash and Lisa Hilyard did an incredible job installing the tile! Thank you Lisa!!! 🐾🛑
Did you know our private training room is open to local Indianapolis rescues to perform meet and greets with potential adopters?!? Email [email protected] for details and to secure the room when your rescue needs a safe place! Restrooms and coffee are available for the humans and the critters will be spoiled by staff when given permission 😉
Many of our Indianapolis rescues are foster based and have no facilities for the animals to be. Safe zones like ours are critical to help these organizations help the animals!

Sunday morning our store delivered food to Canine Castaways Rescue, Inc. Fountaintown facility to help restock the dwindling pantry there. The van CCR uses for EVERYTHING has a flat tire but they were in need for food so we found a way!
Our store manager passed out buffalo chews for enrichment while going kennel to kennel meeting some of the precious souls who are yearning to find their forever homes.
Shelly Christie and board founded Canine Castaways in August of 2014 (happy almost birthday CCR! 🥳) completely dedicated to rescue dogs in high-traffic kill shelters in Indiana and FAR beyond. Her and her volunteer network have saved countless lives with their dedication to animal welfare and their message to leave no stray behind, even if they're wolves! YES! WOLVES! 🐺
Shelly has developed an incredible foster network for animal housing but also has the physical facility with animals on site to care for. Canine Castaways could always use more volunteers and donations!
