I have 15 years of pet sitting experience, with an emphasis on cats and their unique needs. I have also worked as a veterinary kennel tech/cat caregiver, a shelter feline animal care technician, a shelter cat adoptions counselor, and a pet retail associate. For over a decade, I oversaw the care of an outdoor community cat colony that lived on my property, and I also volunteered for local rescues a
nd fostered kittens and cats, including mothers with young kittens as well as hospice cats with cancer and other terminal conditions. I have a soft spot for "challenging" cats and earned a reputation for rehabilitating cats with complex medical and behavioral conditions. I am experienced at dispensing medications, giving subcutaneous fluids, and checking blood glucose in diabetic cats and giving them insulin. I've also cared for cats of all ages, from neonatal kittens to geriatric cats. Currently, I share my home with six cats, from age one to sixteen years, and I also work as an administrative assistant at the IU School of Nursing. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my cats, bird watching, nature walks, reading, and writing (blog coming soon!). In order to better serve my clients, I plan to continue my training and education. Cats are amazing creatures, and there's always something new to learn about them and their care. Feline enrichment is important to me, and I'll be sure to respect your cat's space, boundaries, and routines. If they consent, I'll provide enrichment time through play and petting, but if that's not their thing, that's totally fine! If you'd like to learn more about me and how I can give your cat their own "stay-cation" while you travel, please call or text me at (317) 401-9690 or email me at [email protected].
