MISSION
The Indiana Hunter/Jumper Association exists to promote hunter and jumper equestrian sports in Indiana. Our Mission is to provide support and opportunities for riders to advance as far as their desires and abilities allow, and to ensure a totally fair and equitable environment for all members at IHJA recognized competitions and other activities, and in its governance. OBJECTIVES
Create an

d maintain an environment that encourages membership, competition, learning, and active involvement of hunter/jumper riders of all ages and skill levels. Encourage, provide, and support safe, high quality hunter/jumper compeitions which are impeccably conducted in a sportsmanship manner. Encourage and support IHJA members to advance to the limits of their abilities and desires. Recognize effort and accomplishment by members of the Association. Govern itself by a system comprised of individuals dedicated to serving the entire membership and whose single motive is advancing the welfare of the IHJA with complete integrity. Continuously improve the quality of the IHJA, including attracting more USEF rated shows to Indiana.

IHJA Members - our annual all member board meeting will be held on November 10th 2024. We would love to hear from you and gain your insight on relevant topics from elections, rule changes, to anything you may wish to discuss with the board. Please come out and join us!

IHJA Members - we have some big things coming up, make sure to read all of these action items!
1. Check your points! The sooner an issue is found and resolved, the better - you want to make sure this is done by the end of the 2024 season!
2. A proposed rule change is detailed in the post. This rule change may be voted on by members at our November ALL MEMBER meeting. This meeting will be held in person, stay tuned for a date and time.
3. Mark your calendars for 12/1/2024 - you want to be sure to rejoin IHJA on that day for the 2025 show year. Membership does not auto renew for horses or riders.
4. ELECTIONS! Please get all nominations in by 10/18. Nominate yourself or another member, we have multiple positions opening up this year.

Time is coming for the 2024 IHJA elections! We have 3 board member seats opening, as well as president and vice president. You may nominate yourself or nominate an IHJA member you think would be great on the board.

In order to be eligible to be part of elections in October and join the board officially in November upon election finalization, nominees MUST be IHJA members by Aug 1, 2024. Aug 1 is coming quickly, make sure to join now if you are considering running!

The ballot will be sent to members in October, so keep a look out. We want to continue to grow our board and organization, please consider running to be an IHJA board member!

Thank you Tammy Provost for an incredible clinic these past two days! Today Tammy ran us through multiple flat and fences classes. Riders were given places and scores, and those scores were explained by Tammy as an ‘R’ judge - there were lots of questions answered! This was such an incredible clinic, thank you Tammy!

Thank you Sierra Woods Farm and Amy Tilson Ochoa for hosting this clinic, it was a wonderful experience for everyone!

Day 1 of the Tammy Provost clinic was great, we can’t wait for tomorrow! So many valuable lessons were learned today, such a wonderful opportunity for riders, horses, and auditors of all levels!

The Tammy Provost clinic is a week away! Please be sure to see the attached riding schedule, it will be the same for Tuesday and Wednesday. Additionally, if you owe a remaining balance to IHJA, be sure to pay that by June 28th.

If you plan on auditing, be sure to let Erica know. Parents, if you plan to stay and audit, also let Erica know (or if you will be dropping off your child) so IHJA can provide lunch for the correct number of people. Auditors please let Erica know this by June 28th as well.

“* Dates: November 11-17, 2024
* Location: Southpoint Hotel & Casino - Las Vegas, Nevada
* STAY TUNED for the official Nomination form to be released. Deadline for Nomination Forms is AUGUST 1, 2024
* Nomination forms will ONLY be accepted from the Affiliate representative on file. Parents, Trainers, and Individuals are NOT allowed to submit forms on their own behalf.
* ONLY ONE Nomination form will be accepted per Affiliate.
Then what happens:
* Nomination Form deadline is August 1, 2024. We will then determine the accepted nominees, email acceptance letters and post the accepted lists online
* Accepted Nominees will complete the pre-entry application and payment by August 27, 2024
* Should Accepted nominees decline their acceptance, we will then begin to accept wait listed nominees for that section.
* Accepted nominees will finalize stall counts and class entries in September.
* Hotel group codes will then be provided to accepted nominees who have completed their entries and stabling. Don’t panic – there will be enough rooms for all at the group discounted rate!“
