🌈 In Loving Memory of Marley 🌈
Marley was the definition of a certified good boy — gentle, loyal, and full of love. At 15 years old, he found himself at the shelter after his owner passed away. When he first came to us, he was heartbroken and wouldn’t eat anything except Kroger fried chicken (and honestly, we can’t blame him 🍗). With patience, love, and a few fried chicken bribes, his foster mom helped him find joy again.
For a short while, Marley was adopted. Unfortunately, that “happy ending” wasn’t what it seemed. He was returned to us clearly not as loved when he left and labeled “aggressive.” Which, anyone who truly knew Marley knows how far from the truth that was. This boy let a 5-pound chihuahua steal food right out of his bowl. He was nothing but love.
As painful as it was, we’re grateful he came back. Back to a home where he was cherished, cared for, and treated with the dignity every senior deserves. Marley’s final days were spent surrounded by friends, enjoying sunshine, snacks, nature walks, and a steak dinner fit for a king. 🥩 He passed peacefully in the arms of his loving foster mom — the way every senior should.
Now, we’re asking our community to help us honor him one last time. Donations toward Marley’s final expenses ensure that we can continue saying yes to seniors like him — the ones who’ve lost everything and deserve to leave this world knowing love again. 💛
