VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Winter is hitting hard here in Indianapolis with below-freezing temperatures expected again on Wednesday, January 22nd. Our pups cannot be outside for very long in this weather, so this presents a challenge to our team as we clean their kennels.

We’re asking for 2-3 volunteers to help keep our dogs safe and comfortable. Join us Wednesday morning from 8 AM to 11 AM to hold, walk, and snuggle with our dogs in the hallway while their kennels are being cleaned.

If you are available and interested in helping, please email [email protected]. You do not need to stay the whole time - any time you can spend with our animals is valuable! If you have not completed your dog training but are comfortable walking and holding a dog on a leash, please let Sara know. We will have staff and other volunteers to support you. If you are fully trained and can come in, please do so!

If we are forced to start late due to weather, we will notify everyone via our page. Volunteers and staff will also receive an email if conditions necessitate a late start. Thank you!

COLD WEATHER ALERT!

Do you have time to snuggle with some dogs to keep warm?

Winter is still raging here in Indianapolis, and we are expecting below-freezing temperatures on Monday, January 20th, and Tuesday, January 21st. Monday and Tuesday will be so cold that the dogs cannot be outside for too long, only a few minutes at a time. This will present a challenge to our team as we clean their kennels.

We are asking our community to help hold dogs and hang out in the hallway while their kennels are cleaned. Assistance would be greatly appreciated Monday and Tuesday morning from 8 am to 11 am as kennels are being cleaned.

You do not need to stay for an entire shift, but your help would be greatly appreciated for the safety of our animals.

Operation Indy Animals, a coalition of Indianapolis animal welfare organizations, is launching the implementation of a 5-year citywide strategic plan to improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Indianapolis/Marion County. We are hiring for a contract Project Manager to coordinate the work of the oversight board, 5 working groups, IT contractors, and other partners and stakeholders.
