It is Veterinary Assistant Appreciation Week and our assistants wanted to share what they love about working at AEAC! We wouldn't be the clinic we are without our fantastic assistants and their endless hardwork. If you get the chance, please be sure to thank them for their part in your pet's care! ππ¦#exoticvetmed #exoticvetclinic

Lemon came to see us today and was so comfortable after her exam, she gave Dr. Matt a little present! #exoticvetclinic
Here comes the airplane!
Ozzy is a 1-year-old Bearded Dragon who came in for smoke inhalation when his light fell into his enclosure and started to burn the towels in his enclosure. He came in for supportive care with oxygen, anti-inflammatories, and monitoring for burns but was able to go home the next day!#exoticvetclinic #exoticvetmed
Twitch woke up from his dental surgery without his terrible, overgrown incisors. He may not love his new haircut (we had to shave a bit of his face) but he is SUPER happy to be able to groom again! #exoticvetclinic #rabbitsofinstagram #exoticvetmed
Fiver and Hazel came to see us today. These sweet brothers are two years old now and have spent most of their lives waiting for their foreverhome! They came into Exotic Animal Rescue & Pet Sanctuary (EARPS, Inc.) at just 3 months old and are STILL waiting..πππ The rescue says they are super sweet, clean, have great litter box habits, and are very social. If youβre looking to add a sweet pair of chill boys to your family, please consider these guys! They are available through @earps.inc #adoptdontshop #exoticvetmed

Did you know rabbits could benefit from environmental enrichment too? Treat balls are an easy way to make eating pellets more challenging and entertaining! Check out our "Intro to Rabbit Care" video on our website for more ideas! http://exoticvetclinic.com/pet-owner/educational-videos/

This weekβs Featured Rescue Pet isβ¦
Nina!
She has been with The Pipsqueakery for about a month.
Nina came to The Pipsqueakery through the Humane Society of Bloomington. She is very adventurous and loves to go exploring so her forever home will have to be careful to prevent escapes! Before coming to the rescue, she managed to escape her cage twice and even ended up in a cat cage! Besides exploring, this little lady loves to chew on both things she should and things she shouldnβt, and enjoys treats.
If you are interested in offering Nina a loving (and escape-proof!) forever home, submit an adoption application here: https://form.jotform.com/62483364114150#_=_

Suki came in for her quarterly visit to have her beak shaped up and serenaded us with her beautiful voice!
Abba has found her new favorite toy...an empty medicine bottle, go figure! #exoticpet #caique #exoticvetmed
This handsome guy recently came into a rescue when his owner passed away. He's got a couple of medical issues that need to be addressed but he will be available for adoption soon! With the long lifespans of several of our exotic species, especially tortoises and parrots, it is possible for our pets to outlive us! We recommend all of our owners have a pet "retirement plan" in place, just in case!
