Re-Wilding Indiana was recently contacted by Hancock County Animal Control about a Bald Eagle down in a field and one of AEAC's nurses volunteered to provide transportation for care! Luckily, no abnormalities were noted on exam or radiographs and she was incredibly feisty! She is on an anti-inflammatory medication and currently being flight tested for release by an experienced federally-licensed rehabilitator. Re-Wilding Indiana is excited to continue providing great care for injured and orphaned Indiana wildlife, but need your help! Recently, we had the pleasure of seeing Peaches, an adorable momma guinea pig, and her four adorable babies for a maternity wellness exam! Our maternal wellness exams provide thorough physical check-ups for both the mother and her offspring. It's essential to prioritize the health and well-being of our furry friends during pregnancy and ensure their babies get the best start in life. Peaches’ babies are all happy & healthy and getting bigger each day 🐹🥰🦎

The Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic and Hancock Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation are pleased to announce the creation of a non-profit organization dedicated to serving Indiana wildlife, with official operations beginning January 2025.

For 30 years, the Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic has provided pro bono medical and surgical care for injured wildlife brought to the clinic by the public and licensed wildlife rehabilitators. The Clinic works with a network of volunteer rehabilitators to provide nursing care for sick and injured wildlife, and for orphans. However, with 2024 bringing close to 1000 wild animals for care, the demand has outstripped capacity. Now is the time for an independent wildlife hospital within Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic to partner with one of the area’s strongest wildlife rehabilitation organizations, Hancock Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation. We can then build capacity for the future and better serve Central Indiana’s wildlife.

Samson is a 3 year old cockatiel who visits yearly for his wellness exam and grooming! He was a model patient for his exam and routine bloodwork! Since birds commonly mask signs of illness for as long as possible, a regular yearly veterinary physical examination is important to help detect problems early and to establish a normal “baseline” for your bird🦜🦎
