They are never "Just a dog".....

They are never "Just a dog".....

For all of my dog lover friends....

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it’s just a dog," or, "that’s a lot of money for just a dog.

They don’t understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog".

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog".

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it’s "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise.

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.

Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.

So for me and folks like me, it’s not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what’s good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it’s not "just a dog", but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just" a man or woman.

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog" just smile... because they "just don’t understand"...

"THE SILENCE"

It's the silence you come home to,
When their paws no longer tread,
A quietness so deafening,
That fills the heart with dread.
No joyous bark to greet you,
No wagging tail in sight,
The space they once inhabited,
Now shrouded in the night.
The echoes of their laughter,
Still linger in the air,
Yet the silence speaks more loudly,
Of the love that once was there.
Their bed lies still and empty,
Their toys untouched, forlorn,
A house once filled with life and warmth,
Now feels so cold and worn.
But in the quiet moments,
When tears fall softly down,
We remember all the happiness,
Their presence did endow.
The silence is a testament,
To a bond that will not fade,
For love transcends the physical,
In memories we've made.
So though the silence aches so much,
And leaves a hollow space,
Their spirit lives within our hearts,
A love we still embrace.

Beautiful...

Dogs die. But dogs live, too.
Right up until they die, they live.
They live brave, beautiful lives.
They protect their families. And love us.
And make our lives a little brighter.
And they don't waste time
being afraid of tomorrow ..

As a pet lover, when we hear the words "win the lottery" the first thing that goes through my mind is how I would spend it! And, of course - it would be on the animals! What would you do with lottery winnings if you could spend it on the animals?

There are a variety of things to consider when purchasing an urn for a beloved pet; the decor of your home, the pet's personality, an urn that's more like art or more like an urn-vessel, the size of the urn, and lastly - what personalization will go on the urn. If you had to sum up the life of your pet, what would you say to forever capture their unique self?
