🐰✨ Sanctuary Sunday! Meet Bellini — our soft, resilient, heart-warrior girl ✨🐰
I came from a backyard hoarding situation during a brutal winter — nearly a foot of snow, negative windchill, and no safe place to go. I was cold, sick with parasites, and pregnant. But then rescue found me, brought me inside where it was warm and safe, and cared for me as I gave birth to nine healthy, loved babies. That’s when I got my pretty name… Bellini 🍑💛
Even after everything I survived, I stayed gentle, patient, and endlessly sweet. But then my breathing became difficult and I grew weak. A rabbit-savvy veterinarian discovered I have an enlarged heart and congestive heart failure 💔
Thankfully, my babies were just old enough to be on their own, which meant I could finally start the heart medication I desperately needed — and I’ve made an incredible comeback! I can groom myself, play, binky, and even zoom again 🌟🐇💨
💔 Recently, though, Bellini has been facing new medical challenges. She’s had multiple urgent care visits as her condition fluctuates, and these emergency appointments, diagnostics, and medications add up very quickly. Senior and special-needs rabbits like Bellini require attentive, proactive care — and it is expensive — but she absolutely deserves the very best.
Because of her condition, Bellini cannot be spayed, so she is now an IHRS sanctuary rabbit, where she will live indoors, safe, cherished, and supported for the rest of her life — exactly as every domestic rabbit should 🏡💛 Her heart medications, follow-ups, and emergency care will be ongoing, and we are asking for help to continue giving her the care she needs and deserves.
