🌿 Sanctuary Rabbit Sunday Spotlight: Tulip & Lucy 🌿

Meet Tulip and Lucy, two incredibly brave, social, and intelligent rabbits who remind us every day what resilience looks like. 💛

🌸 Tulip is a gentle soul living with arthritis. She takes daily pain medication — just like people do — so she can stay comfortable, stretch out in her favorite cozy spots, and enjoy her quiet moments of joy.

💗 Lucy also requires daily medication to manage her medical challenges, and despite everything, she remains curious, affectionate, and full of personality.

Both girls are loving companions who thrive indoors where they can be safe, comfortable, and cared for. Providing them with lifelong sanctuary means ongoing medical support, soft places to rest, and all the compassion they deserve.

🐰📚 Fun Fact Friday – Rabbit Vocabulary 101! 📚🐰

Rabbits have been with humans for a long time, and so have the words used to describe them. Traditionally, people raising rabbits as livestock used the terms:
• “Buck” = male 🧑‍🦱🐇
• “Doe” = female 👩🐇
• “Kit” = baby bunny 🐣🐇

In the house-rabbit community, we prefer the simpler, kinder terms male, female, and baby — because domestic rabbits are social, intelligent companion animals, not farm animals. Using respectful language helps remind us that they belong indoors, paired or solo, and lovingly cared for. 💛🏡

🌟 Success Story: Daria & Chief 🌟🐇💞

Sweet Daria was born in foster care and spent her first year growing up with lots of love — but she was so shy that Meet & Greets were overwhelming for her. Her first foster mom knew Daria just needed the right environment to shine, so she moved to a new foster home… and that’s where the magic began. ✨

With the help of her new feline friend, Daria slowly found her confidence and started to show her curious, gentle personality. When she attended her next Meet & Greet, something amazing happened — she met Chief, and sparks flew! 💕

These two are now getting to know each other, and their bond is blossoming beautifully. Daria has come such a long way — from timid to thriving — and Chief is right by her side. 🐰🐰

Here’s to second chances, patience, and the power of love and friendship. 💫

Artemis has been through so much, but her gentle spirit shines brighter than ever. 💫 Once abandoned in a storage unit, this brave girl was rescued by animal control and brought to safety with the Indiana House Rabbit Society. Now, she’s ready for her next chapter — full of comfort, love, and care. 💕

Artemis is curious, calm, and loves to explore. She’s happiest just being part of your day — whether she’s lounging nearby or hopping over to say hello. 🥰

Unfortunately, Artemis faces ongoing health challenges due to a chronic respiratory infection. Despite medications, the infection persists, and she now needs a major surgery to give her the best chance at a healthy, happy life. 🌸
