It’s easy to let your heart and emotions usurp your better judgement; to focus on a goal, that while paying immediate, superficial emotional dividends, ultimately hurts those you hope to best serve. Not to mention the toll it takes on the caregiver as well.
Intentions and goals need to be evaluated from a deeper place. One needs to think not just of the immediate, simple consequences of their choices, but instead to look more deeply at the complex, long term results these choice will ultimately create.
The goals you start with matter. Understanding what these goals manifest matter. Knowing what begets what matters.
Choosing what’s best over what’s easy matters.
