It’s been a long transition but we are finally getting everybody settled. Mares are all putting on good weight and the foals are becoming more confident and curious.

Great pictures from the festival. The farrier was wonderful! He tried really hard to get the Belgian’s feet, but it was raining and it had been a long day. The farrier was so disappointed, but we will have him back our again for sure!! He was so patient, and such a natural. Some of our volunteers, waiting out the rain. And two of our biggest supporters who we love so much around here Kim Chase from Nash 97.3 and Angela, who has been a great partner in helping us rescue all our horses her at Aster Ranch!! .3

We are so excited to have everybody come out to the Western Festival in a couple weeks. But as you know it’s the end of the month and we always do a big fundraising push for Rescue costs. We are getting a new heavily bred mare on Friday, so everybody will get to see 4 new babies.

All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the care for the horses. This month we had vet bills for all our new rescues. We had 11 horses done this month costing nearly $3000. Even $10-$20 will help significantly towards these bills. It adds up quick.

Aster Ranch has been fortunate enough to have the support of two very special teenage boys. Since I broke my hand, they have really helped keep things going around here. Thursday and Friday after school they helped tear down a barn that was donated to us, and long as we could remove the stuff we wanted. We were able to save the trusses, roof metal and they tore the sides off in large pieces so that it is easy to assemble at the Ranch.

Hunter Miller and Thomas Mundil are two wonderful boys that will out-work almost any man I know, and they are only 15. It is so rare to find teenage boys that would rather work, then sit in front of the TV. Kudos to their parents for raising them right.

These boys deserve so much more than the Ranch is able to afford to give them. I am asking for a little help from the community to show them our appreciation.

Without the continued support of these great, hard-working boys, I don't know that Aster Ranch would be able to stay open. Volunteers are EXTREMELY hard to find, so please help me help them. If we can't support them, they will need to find summer jobs elsewhere.

We had a foal born this morning, he’s too weak to stand, mama won’t nurse, and we are needing to buy colostrum, and bottle feed!!
