I would like to let everyone know why we haven't been on social media for a while. I was diagnosed with invasive carcinoma cancer. It was a lot to digest for our little family. We just needed time to think, cry, get mad, be there for our kids, and analyze our lives.
I have always been a very private person, so talking about this is very hard. I have had 30 abdominal surgeries. Currently, have a short colon and an ileostomy bag. Living life with a short colon means that you don't absorb the nutrition that you need to out of your food. So your body starts to deteriorate pretty fast. Working with a great team of doctors, I was able to get my nutrition levels pretty much under control the best we could for my condition. I live in constant pain from the amount of damage from all the surgeries and the lack of nutrition in my body. So getting up every day and doing day-to-day chores, it's very hard for me. I have always had a positive attitude and was just so thankful to be alive. I pushed back the pain and got up every day to try to live each day to my fullest. When I found out I have cancer. I just shut down for a while.
I am not gonna lie. One of the things I loved the most about my husband's dog breeding business. Was to be the person behind the camera. Following him around catching those special moments and talking to so many wonderful people. Oh, and of course, all those adorable puppies. But I was just so sick to my stomach and tired all the time that I couldn't even do that anymore. So I was literally at my breaking point.
My wonderful husband who was so worried about my health, and the financial cost of everything decided to go and take on a second job. Because we all know unless you are a puppy mill, you make an average living as a dog breeder. Since all of our females
have retired except Skyler. We decided that we would quit breeding for a while. And only focus on training.
It's been a little over two weeks since they removed all the cancer from me. And it wasn't as bad as the doctors thought and they were able to get it all with no radiation or chemo. With the great news, we decided to keep breeding.
