About Connie: I moved to Indiantown in 1971 to live with my sister Ann and brother-in-law Stafford I was 14 at the time. Stafford was part of the Indiantown Ranglers a country band and I sang with the band. I fell in love with Indiantown and later married and made it my home town. I have 4 grown children and I have a wonderful husband: Thomas. I am the praise leader at "Spirit of Grace Ministries

" in Indiantown where I have been attending for over 16 years. I have been a groomer for over 24 years, I started out in West Palm Beach in 1989, my niece Tonya and my sister Gayle and I owned Pampered Paws and Purrs on Okeechobee Blvd. We had a very busy grooming shop doing 25 to 35 dogs daily. When I married Thomas in 2000 I moved back to Indiantown and we to work at Clip 'n' Dip in Juno Beach and I work there now 4 days out of the week. I am an accomplished groomer able to groom all breeds, from fully hand scissored poodles and bichons to your basic shave downs. I use only the best shampoo's and conditioners and I pride myself in doing an outstanding bath and blow dry for each pet that comes through my shop. I opened Connie's Little Grooming Shop in 2003. We had a little shed in our back yard and Thomas converted it to a fully equipped grooming shop. He framed it up, replaced the roof, tiled the floor and installed a full sized tub, raised up to the perfect height and enclosed the tub in tile. He put lights over the tube and added 3 lights above the work area. I have 2 grooming tables and enough cages to hold up to 15 dogs. It is small but I have everything I need to groom and keep the dogs comfortable till they are picked up. I have AC and heat in the winter. I have made some wonderful and loyal friends through this business. I have grown close to the dogs that come to my shop and love grooming them. I can think of no other job I would rather be doing, seeing the dogs come through my shop and going home transformed into beautiful puppies after their grooms blesses me immensely.

**DO NOT DELAY GETTING YOUR PUPPY INTO THE GROOMER FOR HIS FIRST HAIRCUT**
and consistently for the first year of grooming.
With all dogs if you bring them into the groomer when they are young puppies starting at 8 to 12 weeks and you
continue bringing them every 4 to 6 weeks, they will learn all about grooming and will not be so scared. It will help your dog to be less stressed at the grooming and will make the whole grooming process less traumatizing to your dog and groomer. I had a couple of dogs this week that totaling went berserk in the bathtub because they were not adjusted to the bathing process as puppies. If you wait until your puppy is 5 or 6 months old before bringing them to the groomer, you have created a groomers nightmare. Your dog will more than likely be petrified of the groomer for the rest of his life. The dog doesn’t understand that they need a bath and their nails cut. They don’t understand that they need a haircut and that they have to stand still for an hour or two while they are getting it. If you introduce it to them when they are young, they learn it is just part of their life and they get used to it.
You are not doing your puppy any service at all by waiting too long to bring them to the grooming.
If you are thinking about getting a dog that needs to go to the groomer frequently consider the cost. Our prices start at $65 for grooming small dogs, other groomers charge more. If you can’t afford to spend that every 4 to 8 weeks you don’t need a dog whose hair continuously gets longer.
Just my thoughts, we get a lot of distraught dogs in the grooming shop, I have a lot of scars on my arms to prove it and it could have been prevented by responsible owners.

His name is Milo, he is a 4 1/2 month toy poodle.
This was his first haircut.

Opening times for grooming
I am a busy person, there is a lot going on in my life between trying to keep my plant nursery going, my dog grooming business, going to doctor’s appointments, taking care of my husband and my grandson.
I don’t get a lot of sleep during the week. My bed is the recliner in the living room so bedtime is between 11:30 - 12 every night. I get up at 4:45am to get Onyx ready for school when it is in session and sometime I get to sleep a couple of more hours after getting him on the bus. So on the weekends I like to sleep a little later.
When I have grooming appointments I start at 10 am in order to get some needed sleep. In Saturdays we sometimes start at 9am and even 8am if we are really busy.
When you go to a department store if they say they open at 10 they don’t open the doors until 10. If you are early you have to wait.
Some people think because my business is at my home that it is alright to come earlier than our opening time.
It is alright if you ask me if you can, but if you are the first customer of the day please do not come early and expect me to be around to take your dog in.
I try to sleep as late as I can because I am exhausted most of the time. I get up an hour before I start work unless I am really exhausted then it is only 1/2 hour before my first customer is booked.
I have to take care of myself, my grandson and my dogs in that time and I need that full hour to get everything done.
So please if your appointment is the first one of the morning, do not show up 15 to 20 minutes early unless you ask me first.
If you need to come earlier that can be arranged.
Saturdays first appointment is at 9:00
Weekdays 10:00
If I am open on Sunday 11:00
