Support 4 Paws

Support 4 Paws Animal rescue and welfare focused on helping owners keep their animals at home and out of the shelter

Our mission at Support 4 Paws is to keep animals in their homes and out of shelters and off the streets. We accomplish this by being an animal rescue and welfare organization focused not only on animal rescue but helping their guardians as well. We can do this through community outreach, educational programs and by offering low or no cost microchip and vaccine clinics. A short-term goal is to open

a pet food pantry offering free food and pet supplies to low income families and anyone needing the extra support.

Who gets really excited about 💩?!

We do!!!

The girls are both almost potty trained and they now stroll around the neighborhood nicely on the leash. Today they rode beautifully in the car and were really well behaved and relaxed at the park.

Last night they played with the cat and the rest of my crew. They are great with kids too.

Please keep sharing! There are two more that need to be saved but we can’t get them until we find fosters or adopters for the girls. Help!

Whenever we rescue an animal, we wonder about its past. Sometimes their past is pretty clear and sometimes it’s not. These guys are in the ‘not’ category.

They clearly had never worn collars or been in a car or walked on a leash but my floors don’t bother them at all. I say that because dogs whom have never been in a house, struggle with ‘real’ flooring at first. They also both know exactly what Doritos are which is hysterical.

Last night they both peed outside and this morning they were walking much better on the leash.

They absolutely love food, toys, carrots and people of all ages. They HATE going outside which is bizarre; they clearly enjoy the home life. Please keep sharing to find them fosters! They will be spayed on Wednesday.

We desperately need fosters for these two young female dog cattle dog mixes. They were unexpectedly rescued from a field being developed, with heavy machinery everywhere. Both Debbie and I are full but there was no choice. Please reach out if you can foster!

We saw this old man’s picture online and were immediately drawn to him….

A couple weeks later, AC personally asked us if we knew anyone who could give him a soft landing. How could we say no?

Welcome home Phil.

Phil is a senior chihuahua and we are assuming he is a hospice case so he will never leave; he will live his best life here, until it’s time. Vet care and a bath coming soon. Right now he’s doing what every old dog does when they get into a home; they begin the three day sleep. 🤣

We appreciate Dhs AnimalControl Staff and their commitment to helping dogs get out of the shelter and into the proper hands.

Phil will need senior bloodwork and possibly a neuter if he’s heathy enough to undergo surgery. Please consider donating to give this old boy, his best last life.

Seven is out and about today in Fontana learning about travel baseball. He is SO smart and picking up his obedience training very quickly. There is a lot going on and I am proud of how brave and confident he’s becoming.

Bringing this back around. Thank you for the donations so far but we have a long way to go to cover these expenses. We can't afford to do this as often as we'd like and this one was a big hit to our bank account. This was not one of our dogs - but an owned animal that needed help. Please consider a year end donation to help cover this cost and the surgery we have on Christmas Eve for one of our rescues. Please SHARE this post. Thank you.

When I received a frantic text about a dying dog from a friend, we sprung into action. His owners are down on their luck and needed financial assistance. This one year old shepherd was in bad shape with a temp of 105.5, labored breathing, anorexia, vomiting and diarrhea. As always, Ridgeline immediately took this boy in. Right now we have a few possible causes on the table but we are waiting for the advanced blood work panel to return before we can say for sure what is ailing this dog. We have started powerful antibiotics and steroids.

We are trying to cover his expenses ($1,172.64) as we have another costly orthopedic surgery case coming up; on Christmas Eve. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Please share and donate if you can. You can donate directly to Ridgeline. Stetson, patient ID 12156.

We've talked a lot about posting this and the decision was easier after hearing some news tonight.

Rescue is hard and it takes money that is often difficult to come by. On October 20th, Linda Talley reached out to us and asked us to pull a dog from the Riverside shelter for her. The dog had a broken jaw but she offered to pay for the surgery and said she'd pick him up and take him to her place. We didn't know her but she is a board member for a large animal nonprofit that I respect, so I thought we'd help out and pull the dog under our rescue. We don't normally do this but I'll admit that her background swayed me - surely she cared about animals.

The story is long and to make it short she backed out of fostering the dog (she'll say she never made that offer and I say we wouldn't have pulled the dog without a committed foster) and now she has backed out of paying for the dog's medical. It turns out that Nugget didn't need surgery. Good news, right? Surely Linda would be thrilled that she got off cheap.

Well, she didn't see it that way. She's refusing to pay any of the bills for the 3 specialists we took Nugget to because she said she was going to pay for the surgery. So, apparently because he didn't need surgery she believes she doesn't have to pay. What? Make it make sense.

We're completely gobsmacked that Linda Talley has chosen to stiff a small nonprofit that she asked to pull a medical dog! We didn't ask her for anything - she came to us.

We're disgusted by her behavior and have decided to share our story as a warning to other small nonprofits - and because we just found out tonight that one of our rescues needs orthopedic surgery on his knee. This is going to be costly and it really would have been nice to have the money that Linda promised to pay.

Shame on you Linda Talley and a huge thank you to Lisa Fein Blodgett for offering to pay what Linda won't. Lisa has already done so much and she is currently paying for medical expenses on a dog that she committed to. People who follow through on their word are worth their weight in gold.

Picture of Nugget who is thankfully in a wonderful forever home.

Nugget has a meet n greet tomorrow 🤞 this is a forever match. Then we need to find a home for Oscar (the wee black one). Oscar came to us from the red list at CVAC. He was mysteriously paralyzed and then mysteriously not. He is 💯 a normal puppy who runs and plays and enjoys life. He is neutered and ready to go. He should be a small guy - maybe 10ish pounds. He will win you over instantly. Reach out for a meet n greet!
