Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving . Sorry I’ve been MIA- I ended up catching a really really bad cold and knocked me down for awhile where I even had to call into my “normal” job-which I hate doing and went to the Dr.

Have some of the following UPDATES :

All the basset puppies made it to their new families.
Jazz found a home.
“Wally” & “Rocky” both found awesome homes.
Willa & Georgia are in discussion and will remain unavailable until further notice.
Fern oh beautiful Fern is still waiting for her new perfect home.
Peach is also looking for a new perfect home.

I have some devastating news I wasn’t ready to talk about.
I lost my boy Woodrow back in early summer- I am not 100% sure what happened. I gave him his bravecto & wormer/heartworm meds like I have for the past however many years and had a normal day and he was gone by the time it was morning. It shattered my heart and my heart still hurts as I haven’t talked about it until now.
Then a few days ago I lost my precious & beautiful Agnes- and the losses of this year have been to much. I don’t even know what happened. The night before was a normal day for us, the morning & afternoon was normal. By the time it was 5 or so pm she had passed away.
She had p**ped( a nice normal p**p)- looks like she turned around and finished p**ping and took a few steps forward to go back into her house and collapsed.
Both woody & Aggie were vibrant beautiful goofy loving dogs that will forever leave a void they permanently left prints on my heart.
“Wally” went to a home that experienced their own loss. This family had purchased a puppy from me that ended up getting cancer and passing and a young age. I wish I had the power in me to stop all cancer. I don’t know why cancer hits some dogs younger than others-it’s not something that’s super common, but does unfortunately happen. I wish I could test for it to prevent it.
I also have another family who experienced a loss from Mable’s first litter. The pup had a genetic abnormality that wasn’t caught with me. The tubes in his kidneys were not formed right and caused him to pass away.
I take all losses to heart because it’s never my purpose to produce a puppy to suffer or to have problems of any sort. I’m not here to take people’s money either. That’s why I have a guarantee that covers the first 25 months of the dogs life. Usually if something is wrong genetically it shows up in the first two years of life.
All I can do as a breeder is to keep doing the best I can with the testing available to try and help better the breed. Even all the testing in the world sometimes genetics are just going to do what it wants.
If you all could say a few prayers for my puppy families that would mean so much to me.
It’s never easy to talk about the sad and hard things, but sometimes it’s easier to get it off one’s chest to start healing.
