Ipswich Humane Group / Animal Shelter 501(c)(3) non-profit. Open to the public on Sundays from 2-4 pm at 17 Fowlers Lane, Ipswich, MA.

Through volunteer manpower and donations we create a safe, pleasant environment for cats and dogs that come to the Ipswich Animal Shelter. Our weekly Open Houses held Sundays from 2-4 pm at 17 Fowlers Lane are a great way to meet our adoptable pets!

Two year old Stix is an affectionate, playful, lap cat. Stix is looking for a quiet home as an only cat. He does not like dogs, and would do best with teens or adults only who will give him lots of attention and playtime. Stix is fed prescription food and once daily medication for a prior urinary blockage, and is doing great on his regimen. Come meet Stix during our weekly Sunday Open House from 2pm-4pm at the Ipswich Animal Shelter, 17 Fowlers Lane. Submit an application to adopt at https://www.ipswichhumanegroup.org/adopt (make sure to complete all required fields) to schedule a private meet and greet with Stix after your application has been reviewed. Email our Adoption Director at [email protected] once your application has been submitted to confirm it has been received.

🎆 As we close out 2024 we want to thank the Dog Team for the many hours volunteered that enabled a record 12 local stays and surrenders find their places!

Work in Progress kitty Augie is doing amazing in foster care! Instead of hiding in fear or swatting and growling, he has learned the joy of being petted! Now he can't get enough pets! Augie has a little ways to go before he's ready to meet potential adopters, but keep an eye on this page for when he's ready to meet visitors at Open House in the near future!

All Ohana wants for Christmas is to be adopted! Ohana loves to be petted. Sadly relinquished, he is 15 years old, and has lived with two small dogs, but unfortunately he does NOT like other cats. He is likely ok with older cat savvy kids 8+.

❤️Miss Kitty may be shy but it is ON when we pull out her Cat Dancer! We just know she will love to have a patient person and home of her own. Come meet Miss Kitty on Sunday during Open House from 2pm-4pm! This 10 year old girl would prefer to be your only pet in a quieter adult home (older cat savvy teens 14+ are likely okay.)

❤️Miss Kitty is somewhat retiring. But when the evening volunteers come to care for dog Stella, Miss Kitty *always* gets up to stand closest to the Cat/Dog kennel door and meows to the volunteer returning from the visit with Stella. Miss Kitty does her greeting and this cute sideways head bunting and so we just know that she may be shy, but she will also love to have a patient person and home of her own. Stella (available for adoption) wanted to show her friends how she is learning “find it”. Stella walks so nice but every now and then I let her do a slow run and here is her running me back to the shelter this morning🐾🤣 Who would like a companion to walk or trot with?

Augie enjoys pets with a very soft wand toy (also known as a duster). Sometimes when a cat loses their person, it can be hard at first to accept pets from strange hands. The duster helps us connect, in a manner perceived to be less threatening. Please help us find five year old Augie his new person. Someone with a quiet home, adults only, or with cat savvy teens, and maybe with another cat but no dogs. Apply to adopt Augie at www.ipswichhumanegroup.org/adopt.
