Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to: daily cleaning and bedding of hog pens, operating skid steer, grinding feed, hauling manure, power washing, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities, as well as assist the manager/owner in additional tasks. Physical labor and strength required to perform daily required duties.

Qualifications that would be a good fit for this position would be knowledge of the showpig industry and ability to assist with show and sale prep, feeding show animals, ability to weld, electrical and plumbing work. Most importantly the Livestock Farmhand must be reliable, self-motivated, and trustworthy. Physical labor and strength required to perform daily required duties.

Wages dependent on experience. Opportunity for housing as an added benefit of the position.

‼️SELLING FRIDAY, MAY 19 on NSR’S THE DRAFT VIRTUAL SIRE SALE‼️

We are well aware of NSR’s intent to have a showcase sale with only elite genetic material. We don’t take that lightly. We feel that BRO fits that for us to the highest degree. We’re only offering BRO because we’re so limited on genetic matchups in our herd. He’s only sired 5 litters for us and from those came two of the higher selling gilts we’ve sold this spring. He’s a great semen producer (typically 16 doses per collection) and would work really well on some of the “popular” lines currently in the Yorkshire breed, adding density, hair, strong rear ends with big rear legs that have flex, drive and plant correctly. All that while keeping the look and appeal. We have six littermate sisters that are currently working for us in our herd, and my do they work well farrowing, milking and generating. BROs full brothers Whiskers, In Awe (SGI) (who sired Beamans Why Not Us and our new herdsire Instant Awe) and Thompson’s Kathmandu, who himself was the top selling Belton champion. Kathmandu sired both champion gilts at last summers Exposition and NJSS. That’s a rare feat for any sire in history!
