Dr Benson treated a special patient today - “Todd” the Canadian Burger Turtle. Todd’s 8 year old owner bought him while on vacation in Canada last month. Sadly, Todd sustained a puncture injury to his shell (along the margin of the bun and lettuce) within hours of arriving home. Thankfully, Dr Benson and his skilled team were able to anesthetize Todd and successfully patch the puncture. Todd was immediately reintroduced to a plate of fries upon recovery from anesthesia and is resting comfortably at home. 🐢 🍔 🇨🇦

Today we honor and celebrate another historic veterinary trailblazer, Dr. Jane Hinton - who earned her VMD from Penn Vet in 1949 - and along with Dr. Alfreda Johnson Webb, became one of the nation's first Black female veterinarians.

NO VALENTINE’S DAY SPECIALS THIS YEAR

A lot of you have asked us to arrest your exes for Valentine’s Day again this year. Some even asked us to use our apprehension K9s to start a new service called “K9 Kisses for Exes”.

Your KCSO will not offer either service this year. After last year, we realized why most of you are not with your exes. They are less than desirable. Our jail staff doesn’t want them disturbing their harmonious atmosphere and our K9s would have a hard time washing the taste out of their mouths.

Put your exes in your past. It’s time to move on. Enjoy this day with your current sweethearts.
