The Wisconsin C**n Hunter's Association Red White and Blue series started up again. In July’s event at Southern Wisconsin C**n Hunting Club’s “red” portion, River showed she was going to be a contender. Her handler/owner, Lauren is struggling with a Lyme (and confinfections) diagnosis among other diagnoses and didn’t get much time to practice or stay in shape, but they persevered (and had help along the way when she was too weak, slow, painful, dizzy to handle dogs).

Saturday was the last event and River won the field trial and Champion female bench division and pulled off a late round cast win! Ryan Schuett’s Train Station Rip gave River a great competitive challenge for overall dog and was leading by 2pts going into Saturday’s event (River Gad not entered the hunt at either two events prior). River and Rip were TIED going into the late round hunt and it came down to calling your dog the quickest. She’s a great first strike dog and for never having hunted her but one time alone on a pleasure gig (with the puppy), she really impressed. Somehow she blew her pads too 😳😅🙄.
