Dog displays sociability by coming over for treats and affection with a loose body and a wagging tail. He takes treats gently by hand and is able to be leashed an walked outside as well as be handled for routine veterinary care.

Edison is a quiet, shy guy who will politely greet you at his kennel. He easily lets you leash him up and take him for a walk. Outside, he's happy to just hang out after he gets his potty break. Edison isn't fond of being in front of the camera but he's sure to be by your side while you're taking photos!

Y’all we have over 40 dogs in Foster Homes and we get over 25 asks per day from people wanting us to take in dogs. That doesn’t count the long lists we see of dogs in shelters facing euthanasia.

As you can see, the math doesn’t math very well and there’s absolutely no way we can take in over 25 dogs per day plus hundreds from shelters.

We need to focus on getting the ones we do have adopted so we can make space for even one more.

Take Trinity for instance, she’s a GREAT dog on all accounts but never gets adoption interest. At the last meet and greet she was a star because she’s gentle, patient and affectionate. She would make a great companion or even emotional support animal. She’s lovely!

Quick Stats:
 * Spayed Female
* Estimated 2 Yrs Old
* Current on Vaccinations
* Heartworm Negative and on prevention
* Weighs about 50 lbs
* Micro chipped
* House and crate trained
* Good with other dogs and people
* Very patient and affectionate: might make a good service dog
Not tested with Cats or Children, because most of our foster homes are dog only, but she’s gentle

Location: Fostered near Liberty Hill, north of Leander

Today is , a reminder that knowing how to save a life—especially our furry friends—can make all the difference. While having to administer CPR to your pet can be terrifying, being prepared can help you act calmly and confidently in an emergency.

Stay Calm:
1️⃣ Breathe: Take a few deep breaths to steady yourself. Focus on the feeling of the air filling your lungs.
2️⃣ Delegate: If there are bystanders, assign them tasks like finding the nearest emergency vet.
3️⃣ Focus: Keep your mind clear. Concentrate on the steps ahead and stay in the moment.

When to Start CPR:
🐾 Your pet isn’t responding
🐾 Your pet isn’t breathing
🐾 You can’t feel a heartbeat or pulse

How to Perform CPR:
Compressions:
❤️ Position your pet on their side.
❤️ Deliver 120 compressions per minute (2 per second).
❤️ For every 30 compressions, give 2 breaths.

Breaths:
❤️ Close your pet’s mouth and seal it with your fingers.
❤️ Cover their nose with your mouth and give 2 breaths—enough to make their chest rise.
❤️ Check for a heartbeat after 2 minutes. If there’s no pulse, continue.

When to Stop CPR:
🐾 Your pet starts breathing and responding
🐾 You reach the vet clinic and they take over
🐾 You can’t continue physically
🐾 Your pet starts breathing but is still unconscious

Recovery Position:
Place your pet’s head to the side, slightly tilting down (unless there’s head trauma).

Compression Techniques:
🐶 Medium to Large Dogs: Compress one third of the chest depth.
🐱 Small Dogs/Cats: Use your thumb and fingers for compression, or compress directly over the heart.

Stay prepared and know that you can make a difference in your pet's life! ❤️
